THE status symbol car of choice for many on the Gold Coast is the Ferrari – and the latest model is being trumpeted as more suitable for regular use.

Ferarri Gold Coast has been doing back-to-back viewings of the new Ferrari Roma twodoor coupe at its Southport showroom since its arrival late last week. It departs again on Tuesday.

It rolled off the production line in June and is expected to be priced at a tick above $410,000.

Ferrari Gold Coast General Manager Tania Meli said: “As special as the Roma is, this car is the Ferrari fan’s dream car for everyday driving.

“Whilst traditional Ferrari owners may not typically drive their Ferrari every day, the Roma is still uniquely exhilarating, yet offers a comfortable four-seater, making it a more useable daily commuter.

“It’s an attractive and exciting first Ferrari for our newer clients and a fabulous everyday spoil for some of more passionate collectors”

Ferrari Gold Coast sales manager Dan Sharp said the

Italian manufacturer expected 70 per cent of buyers to be firsttime Ferrari customers.

Six proud Gold Coasters have already signed up for one.

They will have to be patient. The Romas are expected to be manufactured in Maranello, Italy and delivered sometime in the next year to 18 months.

“There’s more millionaires on the Gold Coast per capita than anywhere else in the country,” he said. “We’ll probably see more here. The Gold Coast is the Ferrari capital.”

It can go from zero to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 320km/h.
