The Gold Coast Bulletin

Cupboard bare when it comes to alternatives

- ROY NEAL, SOUTHPORT

AS “oldies” living on the Gold Coast there are quite a few of us who get together for company – up to the virus of course. We read the Bulletin to keep up with the local and government news.

With the elections just around the corner, we oldies from all walks of life would like to respond to some letters in the Bulletin and what we have all seen on TV.

We have noticed that Ken Wade and a few others have put down the Premier as often as their moods take them but what none of them have been able to do is write anything good about the LNP. We have seen Tim Mander and Deb Frecklington telling us what they would do with a different topic every time. Deb even congratulated the Premier for doing a good job then added “but she could do more”. How stupid did that look and sound!

Another time Deb was on to our youth crime problem but soon dropped that as it was realised that the law does nothing to check them, or adults – there is nothing to deter them.

We looked at the Greens but saw nothing to help Queensland. The Independents only come out of the woodwork at election time – we thought of Clive Palmer – that didn’t last long.

So we remember what this Premier has been involved in during her “time” with flood, fires and now this virus and how she and her team have kept us safe. We know people are hurting but look what happened when those idiots visited Melbourne. Health soon got that under control.

And folks just a reminder of an old true saying ... Sarcasm is one of the lowest forms of wit and comes from an empty head.
