AN accused Mongols bikie who breached his bail asked police “why can’t you do your f***ing job” as he was being arrested.

Tyrone Wilton Norman Poole was allowed to go free by police for a week before he was placed in the watchhouse for the night.

Poole pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday to one count of breaching his bail.

The accused bikie wore a black T-shirt with the words “Brothers Behind Bars” in large white lettering on the front.

Brothers Behind Bars is a fundraising effort to raise money to support prisoners.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Dave Shelton said Poole entered into a bail agreement in October last year which included reporting conditions.

Poole failed to report to police on December 14.

When Poole went to the Southport Police station to report on bail on Monday afternoon, he was arrested and placed in custody for the night.

Defence lawyer Michael Gatenby, of Gatenby Criminal Lawyers, said Poole had reported to police on December 18 and was given a notice to appear in court next month for breaching bail.

Mr Gatenby told the court that when Poole reported on Monday he was arrested for that same bail breach by officers from the dedicated bikie squad, Taskforce Maxima.

“It seems the officers at Taskforce Maxima didn’t have much to do,” Mr Gatenby said.

Mr Gatenby said Poole asked officers: “Why can’t you f***ing do your job?”

He told the court after asking that question, he was placed in custody.

Magistrate Gary Finger reminded Poole he was required to report to police.

He fined Poole $500.
