GREAT NORTHERN PLANS BREWING

- ANDREW POTTS

A GIANT Coomera site will be redeveloped to become a major new housing project in “the newest lifestyle epicentre of the northern Gold Coast”.

Brisbane-based developers Keylin and Kinstone Group have bought the 47ha Coomera Town Centre South site from Queensland Investment Corporation with plans to create a residential and lifestyle precinct close to one of the city’s biggest shopping centres.

The project, to feature houses designed solely to be rented, is expected to be rushed to the market within a year to take advantage of the city’s red-hot real estate market.

Keylin director Louis Cheung said planning for the redevelopment was well advanced.

“Now that we have the site purchase finalised, we can dedicate our attention on progressing our exciting plans for the enormous site, which will see it transformed into an all-encompassing hub of living, working and recreational facilities in one vibrant destination,” he said. “The proposal is a true mixed-use centre that allows for a delivery of a residential precinct, supported by extensive lifestyle and adjoining commercial amenity, and direct access to public transport.

“Extensive engagement is currently being undertaken with the relevant stakeholders to ensure the project delivers a visionary destination not just for the Coomera Town Centre South pocket but the extended Coomera neighbourhood too.”

The project will be the second for the two developers who are currently building the $650m Serenity 4212 residential precinct at Helensvale.
