FOUR years ago I bought a new petrol-engine car for $16,400.
For my next vehicle I am urged by the Prime Minister, as part of his net-zero dream, to go electric.
The cost, according to the latest estimate, $44,000. Will Mr Morrison make up the difference? P.C. WILSON, MIAMI
GIVEN all the current political shenanigans going on at COP26, the USA, the EU and back home, brings to mind a timely encounter recently while participating in charity fundraising at a shopping complex when a Slavic looking chap with a respective accent (who seemed reasoned) greeted us.
He dropped into the charity collection tin what appeared to be a $5 note and some coins saying in passing that “Australia is going down the path of socialism which is no good”.
“Hopefully there’s still time to turn it around” then he moved on, after thanking him.
He may be right and myself and my colleagues assumed that he was an immigrant from the Eastern Bloc and already felt that Australia was moving in the direction that he had experienced whence he came from and escaped.
It goes without saying that his insinuation suggests we are on that slippery slope that takes us to that Leftists place of Totalitarianism of fear and control, not only in Australia but world wide.
It’s clear from his words of concern that he sees Totalitarian Socialism unfolding and coming back reliant on his past experience, only this time the colour is not only red but green.
Based on his concerns it is most likely reflected in the actions of Andrews, McGowan, Palaszczuk and not to forget Albanese, there is little hope.
Referencing Morrison’s comments recently and Perrottet, same song and dance, both playing the politics of the two steps roly-poly dance with no sound alternative, except leaning Left.
No doubt NZ has already gone down that path with Australia to follow.
Given that gentleman’s concern it appears that the community is wary of the politics of deception and failings of the Left evidenced over the past 18 months. Like this gentleman indicated, let’s hope it is not too late and the quiet Australians do what is best for the country.

In GCB 12/11 Brian Measday says both NASA & NOAA data are experiencing global warming.
This argument loses plenty by never mentioning by how much our temperature has increased. Please tell us.

IT’S a strange world we live in. Why does the media insist in calling normal rainfall wild weather and just how silly are we getting when we have to be reminded to stay out of the floodwater?
