$3.3M START POINT FOR ASPIRING BUYERS

- QUENTIN TOD

A SYDNEY development team has shown it means business, in more ways than one, with a top-shelf apartment tower planned on a $19m Surfers Paradise oceanfront site.

The tower, Aspire, is intended not only to cater for people wanting luxury living by the beach, but for those wanting to mix pleasure with business. The planned 25-level building is to include a boardroom and serviced offices, with a concierge on hand to offer help.

Stoyan Kiceec, who is to develop the $170m tower with three industry partners, on Tuesday said people today were “technology enabled”, as Covid-19 had shown.

“They don’t have to have their lifestyle crimped by being forced to turn up every day at an office in CBD. They can work just as well from home and Aspire will allow them to have boardroom or private meetings and to use technology such as zoom sessions without infringing on family peace and quiet in their apartment.”

Mr Kiceec, who founded the Xsite group 30 years ago, said Aspire also would have a fully fitted kitchen and bar area to allow private dinner parties and functions.

The building, which is subject to development approval, will replace 48-year-old unit building Anglesea Court at the southern end of Garfield Tce. The tall, slender tower will sit above a podium on a 1037sq m site and will have 36 half and full-floor apartments and a near 700sq m penthouse.

Prices will start at $3.3m, with the penthouse price not finalised.

Parking for 80 vehicles will be provided in four basement levels.

Aspire is to be marketed by the Kollosche agency’s Simon Worthington.
