ARIES MAR 21 – APR 20

While some folk seem to have enough time to toast chestnuts, you’re still juggling and dealing with last-minute organisational issues. But hey, that’s just life on this spinning ball of rock. As soon as one problem’s sorted, another two pop up – and if there’s any season of the year that’s going to happen, you’re in it now. Christmas is always complex, but this year, it’s more complicated than ever. How are you ever going to get into the spirit? Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to be heartfelt.

LEO JUL 24 – AUG 23

“You can’t see the wood for the trees.” It’s one of those sayings that’s inherently annoying – mostly because it tends to be correct. Particularly when everywhere you turn these days, there’s a decorated pine tree to contend with. Yet, the truth is that you’re too close to a challenging set of circumstances to work out what’s really going on. You need to make your way up to the position of the angel (or star) and take a bird’s-eye view to get some perspective. Or try taking some time out today. You’ll find the answer you seek.

SAGITTARIUS NOV 23 – DEC 21

When we’re hungry, everything feels difficult. Thinking, talking... and that’s before we get to anything harder than basic human functions. When our sugar levels are low, minor inconveniences can transform into life-changing dramas. No wonder global corporations schedule important meetings for just after lunch. The point is that, at certain times and in certain situations, things can look bleaker than they are. But the reverse is also true. Today, you’re the person who can turn a difficult situation into Christmas fun.

TAURUS APR 21 – MAY 21

In just over a week, it will almost be over. We’ll be in that strange time when we’re not sure whether we should be wishing people a good Christmas or a happy new year. You’ll be feeling much more relaxed by then. The pressure will have been alleviated. Which doesn’t mean that life will be simple; but there’ll be a good deal less to worry about and concern yourself with. Until then, of course, there’s a mountain or two to climb. Yet, the final Saturn-Uranus link of the year will make it easier and more fun than you think.

VIRGO AUG 24 – SEP 23

The true spirit of Christmas is harder to find than we think. That’s why so many of us turn, instead, to the more readily available, bottled kind. At least we know where it is. But I’m an astrologer, not a health professional, so I’m not going to advise anyone about what and how many eggnogs are advisable. But, it’s worth remembering that too many numb the senses and induce artificial happiness. You seek an experience of joy. If you use the lingering energy of the Solstice to fuel you, you can tap into an intoxicating inner glow.

CAPRICORN DEC 22 – JAN 20

Pantomimes are a British Christmas institution. In small theatres, in every town, kids and adults enjoy these traditional shows. There’s always an archetypal baddie (who gets booed), a goody-two-shoes, and a ridiculous animal costume worn by two hidden actors. An unsuspecting inexperienced visitor would find it totally baffling; particularly because the women dress up as men (and vice versa) and the dialogue’s full of double-entendres. Don’t misread the signals today. And keep your sense of humour.

GEMINI MAY 22 – JUN 22

Magpies aren’t the only ones with a penchant for shiny things. There’s no better time than Christmas to indulge our fascination with all that sparkles. There’s nothing like a twinkling Christmas tree to cheer us up and remind us of the joy we’re meant to be celebrating. If only we had time to relax and appreciate the sparkliness. Despite the adaptations you’re making, there are good times in store for you. Today, in the afterglow of the Solstice, your ability to go with the flow can inspire someone to appreciate the shiny things in their life.

LIBRA SEP 24 – OCT 23

Although this is going to sound like contradictory advice, if you want to avoid taking a risk, you’re going to have to take one. It sounds counterintuitive, but actually, if you expose yourself to a little bit of something, you can avoid having to deal with a much bigger amount down the line. You’d like to be able to avoid a situation (or a certain person), but even just thinking about avoidance strategies is taking up too much headspace. You can head a difficult situation off at the pass. Today brings the courage to gently deal with it.

AQUARIUS JAN 21 – FEB 19

If you’re going to carve a turkey, there’s no point using a screwdriver. It’s not going to work. No matter how creatively you approach the task, no one’s going to end up with an attractive Christmas dinner. You’re in a similar situation today. Although you’ve done as much prep as possible, an unfortunate change of circumstance has left you with the wrong tools for the job. The good news, is that someone has what you need. If you use your Aquarian perceptivity, and ask for help, you’ll be able to serve up exactly what’s needed.

CANCER JUN 23 – JUL 23

If I was speaking to any other sign, I’d spend half this forecast explaining who Atlas actually was. But you’d recognise that fellow Cancerian, the mythological figure forced to carry the weight of the heavens on his shoulders. You know about carrying unreasonably heavy loads. Your inherent sense of goodness and responsibility make you a prime target to be saddled with all kinds of burdens. It’s easy to take on too much at Christmas. But the cosmos is supporting you… and giving you the appropriate courage to say no.

SCORPIO OCT 24 – NOV 22

Like adjusting the lights on your Christmas tree, it’s the little things that make all the difference. When they’re right, everything’s OK. When they’re not, things feel out of sorts. It’s easier to ignore big things. Unless, of course, they started off as little things that we’ve blown out of proportion. Although the issue that’s concerning you feels significant, it’s more minor than it appears. You wish someone’s behaviour would alter. Luckily, the Christmas fairy has heard your requests… there’s a good chance your wish will be granted.

PISCES FEB 20 – MAR 20

For Pisceans, the real joy of the festive season will happen a few days after the event. A week from today, lucky Jupiter returns to your sign, bringing a well-deserved, muchappreciated lightness to your world. Before then, there’s no escaping the usual festive pressures. Yet the promise of positivity will be tangible. You might have an impossible list of tasks ahead, and feel as if you have no choice but to go with the flow. Yet, despite the challenges, and the rearrangements, you’ll find yourself smiling.
