Last Wednesday at Homeworld Helensvale I took a tumble, breaking my fall with my forehead. I would like to sincerely thank those people that came to my aid, helping me to my feet. To the off duty doctor who was kind enough to stay with me until the ambulance arrived, and the staff at TK MAXX, I am so grateful for all you did. My appreciation also goes to the ambulance drivers and the doctors and nurses at Pindara A & E. Luckily nothing was broken, just lots of bruises Tracey Gauci Pacific Pines.

I’m also a firefighter on the Gold Coast and totally agree with yesterday’s article regarding vaccination mandating. It’s ridiculous we are not mandated like every other frontline workforce. We pride ourselves on protecting the community but some of us are unvaccinated! Disgraceful and must be changed. Sam

Regarding article about qfes non mandate. Incredible to think police and ambulance mandate to keep the public safe yet the fire service seems to be sitting on their hands. What happens at road accidents where the firefighters are assisting ambulance and face to face with the public. Pretty sure Katharine Carrol ( former qfes commissioner) would have mandated. Alan.

Message for both of you, vaccinated and unvaccinated can share this virus remember, also you took this experimental jab to save your health, and to Mrs Moore we are not anti vaxers we are pro choice. I agree with Roy's text (28/12) re his suggestion of a Chatroom Hall of Fame. But it would need to have a variety of categories - humour. reality, controversy, migraine causes, and one for the mind boggling contributors, namely Shaun Cunneen, Scientist Believer, Woodleigh, Barney, and Slab. KenW.

I can’t believe the lack of planning by the Labor govt in opening our border. After all the work we citizens did Stacia, you open up & cause mayhem at Christmas. We all knew we would be inundated with people wanting to get away from their problematic states for some relief. Spent 24 hrs in Robina Hospital A&E.... in the midst of Covid chaos and received caring, compassionate, professional attention. Our doctors, nursing staff and health workers are legends and deserve our support and thanks. Hunter

Any criticism of the government for not building more hospitals should be doubled for the LNP who slashed health staff and funding shamefully when in power.

I would love to see Paul Gallen fight Jake Paul and, hopefully, knock him out. Gallen is not a favourite of mine but I have to give him grudging respect for his achievements in rugby league and boxing.

I used to be one of many critics of weather forecasters for how often their daily predictions are inaccurate. However, on closer examination, their expertise, record keeping and public service are amazing. Forecasts of storms, rain, hail, flooding and cyclones, even if not perfect, help keep us safe and prepared in times of emergencies.

I am a wee bit puzzled. We have large numbers of positive COVID cases in Qld but no exposure sites for the Gold Coast for many days. Lots of sites in Nth Qld. Maybe people are passing through rather than staying here. Diz.

There is absolutely no excuse for the errant advise of COVID results by agencies and hospitals who need to take serious accountability for such errors.. saying sorry and that they should have done better just doesn't cut ice.. Doug
