WHERE’S SHARKY: WARD BOOMERANGS BACK TO THAILAND

- ALASDAIR BELLING

RENOWNED former Glitter Strip loan shark Tim “Sharky” Ward appears to be on the move again and back in Thailand – according to new social media posts.

In a Facebook video, the one-time Glitter Strip tough man said he was in Thailand, shortly after he told the Bulletin last month he was back on the Gold Coast, into dirt biking and wouldn’t be returning to his Glitter Strip lifestyle.

The Kiwi had moved to Thailand in 2009. Ward last month told the Bulletin he moved back to the Gold Coast in April 2021 due to Thailand's harsh pandemic-induced lockdowns.

However, in the latest social media video by him, Ward claimed he hadn’t been to Australia for 15 months.

“There’s an article written about me living on the Gold Coast doing gangster s**t when the reality is I’m sitting here, drinking coffee, listening to Pearl Jam … looking out over the Gulf of f***ing Thailand, which is a million miles away from Australia,” he said, while filming his picturesque surrounds.

“I flew back to Australia in April, 2021 ... what’s that, 15 months ago. When s**t got really bad in Thailand with the Covid stuff, I flew back to Australia, I did my quarantine and my plan was to stay there until this Covid s**t was finishing. That was 2021. 15 odd months ago now. I’m back in Thailand. Maybe in 15 months’ time (they) will do a story about (me) living in Thailand again … who knows?”

The Bulletin spoke to Ward in July. He claimed he was located on the Gold Coast and was undergoing a training regime to lose weight in order to more readily ride his collection of dirt bikes.

His social media accounts include a post on March 21 showing him enjoying the Gold Coast canals, located in Surfers Paradise, and another on June 18 out bush on a bike ride. Several other posts indicate Ward was enjoying his time on the Gold Coast riding dirt bikes throughout the winter.
