MESSAGE OF THE DAY: It’s no wonder the Titans are floundering when they’re considering letting Jayden Campbell go to make way for imports. That young man is one of the Titan’s best assets. That decision would be madness or bad management or both. Sus Sout

Congratulations to Councillor Brooke Patterson for her succinct and spot on article in Saturday’s Bulletin about Southport’s rough sleepers. Thank you to the anonymous writer’s delightful reply to Brian’s query about buttons on shirts. I laughed so hard I burst all mine! Kora

NSW still hurting after being flogged in SOO. Don’t expect any favours Qld teams in the finals. Good luck Cowboys and Broncos. Dehog.

Waiting on power discount. I know what you mean im still waiting on the garanteed $750 off from the Abbott gov and the $450 off from the Morrison gov I gave up on the discount Turnbull offered.

What is magic about the number 43 emission reduction? Why not 40, 45 or 50? Flicka

Palmy girl don’t get your hopes up regarding $175 off your power bill from the chook. My previous bill was $280. Current one $615. We are being had. Mr c. Serious question, what is wrong with the All Blacks? I think this started way back and I’m sensing a dangerous level of hubris five or so years ago. Plus I understand the grassroots system is rubbish. How do they get out this situation by the World Cup? Topo Albo, I want to vote for an Indigenous voice to parliament but I want to know all the detail of what it means, otherwise I’ll vote no. I think others feel the same. Please don’t waste the opportunity to get it done. TJ So now it’s come out that there is record coverage on the Great Barrier Reef. The most in over 35 years. I wonder if Prof Peter Ridd will get the apology he deserves and his job back. It appears that maybe 95% of climate scientists can indeed be wrong. Who would have thought? Peter Everyone talks about how worrying scammers have become, but the worst scams are climate change alarmism, threats to koala survival and the demise of the Great Barrier Reef. How dumb do these agenda driven deceivers think we are?

With bank deposit fixed interest rates under 3% and inflation running at over 6%, depositors are losing money. Where is the morality in the government calling the interest “income” and taxing it? They are as bad as the banks, slugging people like this in hard times. No name (5/8), most Australians voted for stronger climate action and protection of our natural environment, including koalas. Perhaps reading the State of the Environment report might help you see why. Dr Karl fan Illegal drugs like Ice and Cocaine are poison. It takes a lot of effort – deliberate effort – to get it on the streets to poison people. Why can’t our legal system recognize this and issue appropriate penalties to convicted criminals? Martin Oxenford Science believer, how much greenhouse gas do you produce with your texts? Jt Collingwood are firing, 11 in a row. You know why, players don’t have to cop the clueless input from the game show host who has never had a kick, McGuire.

So let me clear this up, if a head NRL coach is not getting results, we simply spend hundreds of thousands more to get more coaches around him. The mind boggles.

So I notice all of the text to editor are in approval of Jacinta Price and her maintain the same rhetoric. A voice in parliament and recognition within our constitution is commensense and a must. Australians can walk and chew gum at the same time. Jacinta Price is clearly being used just to stonewall any advancement in First People’s plight to be recognised in constitution. Nothing more nothing less. Aaron. Titans look at it this way. There are 16 teams competing in the NRL. The winner walks away with the shield and you walk away with the wooden spoon. The other 14 teams get nothing. Don’t feel bad about it you got something. Squizz. Taiwan was once historically part of China. Ukraine was historically part of Russia. Why is the US, a country which colonized Hawaii (an independent country) and Alaska (Part of Canada) for its own needs and yet condemns other countries with greater ties to those countries than the US had to those annexed regions. J B Taxpayers/ratepayers monies are seen as honey pots by businesses. The governments’ negotiators are no match for experienced business people and that is why there are so many ridiculously high priced contracts with terms unfavourable to governments.

Well its gonna be hard to pick a winner for this week’s best excuse for committing a crime. Is it – im sorry, i was drunk at the time or, i had a bad upbringing, on drugs & dont remember, out of character, it was all the other persons fault, and you fell for all of them. Wake Up

It’s not only the higher salaries and, in some instances, better accommodation that migrants from interstate to the Gold Coast miss. It’s lifelong friends, family support groups and familiar surroundings that make them homesick. As more southerners return home, and the flood of new rental apartments under construction become available, the Gold Coast rental market will return to a more normal occupancy rate. Is Adam Bandt the slowest green politician to ever walk the aisles of Parliament? He continually refers to CO2 in the atmosphere as pollution. Doesn’t he understand that without C02 there would be no life on the planet. CO2 levels over history have ranged between 200 and 2500 parts per million. Which means the present 400ppm is well within the normal range. Also there is no correlation in history that shows higher levels of C02 contribute to warming. The last ice age saw CO2 levels at around 200ppm. Im a majority player, a retired self funded retiree, paid all my taxes, worked hard & saved for my retirement. So what does the Govt do for me? Stuff all. So lets have a referendum about that. Broadbeach Oldie With the price of beer these days the only place I can afford to drink out is TwinTowns at $10 a jug otherwise it's home brew.
