Could someone please explain how our local council has allowed a new unit block, just being finished off in Short St Tugun, to be built without a single carpark? Where are the occupants supposed to park? They can’t park on the street, as the name suggests, it’s a short street. Are the council setting a new precedent now, that alows developers to build units with no parking facilities? I’m hoping someone knows the answer! Kathy, Tugun.
Housing crisis in Queensland,Anastasia and her hopeless mateswelcomed anyone here with an open arms - for decades. The only thing Labor “accidentally “forgotis the obvious- infrastructure, surprise, surprise . Hospitals, roads, highways, shopping centres, schools, our suburbs- at a breaking point. Cramming more people in to those little boxes in high rises - , and filling coffers of developers and local Government- seems the lazy way to solve this. Stan, GC
We cannot move forward with the “voice” or a republic until we deal with the utterly abhorrent and extraordinarily damaging overreaction to covid committed by our governments against us free and honest people on the orders of a secretive sect of billionaires who hide behind public faces called the WEF, the WHO, and the UN. What the?? Only two seats at each gate at the new airport, hope more on the way, shocking. Q
With regard to the inadequate, congested and dangerous road network in Robina and much of the Gold Coast, maybe if the state government and Gold Coast City had observed a crucial town planning principle in relation to road systems, they wouldn’t be facing the huge and expensive problem they are now. The principle is “The provision of a faulty road system in the initial stages of town formation prove to be too difficult and costly to repair or rearrange in future”.
Pedro old mate, it is with much sadness I have to inform you that your support for Shaun C means that you have lowered your standards so much it has greatly impacted your resume. I say sadly because I think “once” upon a long time ago you nearly made sense in a text. Sady.

Razr, clean face masks are part of a suite of measures designed by health experts to help prevent people from infecting others with the Covid virus, not just to help protect people from being infected with the virus. Please stop spreading unhelpful misinformation.
I travel GC Hwy every day in a cab up to 10 round trips surfers 2 airport and return. How many lights do u think there is from airport 2 cypress ave? One way only 52 and I get less than 6 green but only 1 in a row. I couldn’t spell synchronisation until I had to sound it out! But i doubt council and transport could or care! Just worrying about the bloody public transport which isn’t flexible at all but the rest of us have to be around it. Yes tourists are welcome but it isn’t all about them, we live here they do not. And gov has failed us as always. Happy motoring brother. Cheers!! GC cabie.
Most pleased indeed to read that Virgin is gunning for Qantas customers! Given that Qantas/ Jetstar has done diddly squat to help loyal customers, big welcome Virgin !!!!
What planet does Yvette D’Ath live on. The health system, including ambulances, is an absolute mess but she denies it. And Mark Bailey, to say health systems worldwide are in the same situation is not an excuse to anybody let alone to people who lost a loved one because of your govt’s inability to fix the situation.
