- AMANDA LULHAM

FROM our young guns to our elite players striving to make the Olympics and world championships, KommunityTV will have water polo fans and the sport covered like never before.

Water Polo Australia has extended its partnership with News Corp with a new two-year deal bringing more games to your screen than ever before thanks to KommunityTV.

The deal will see the prestigious Australian Water Polo League (AWL), Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC) and the National State Championships across various age groups livestreamed across News Corp Australia’s digital metro and regional mastheads, including The Daily Telegraph, The Herald Sun, The Advertiser, The Mercury, The Courier Mail and The Gold Coast Bulletin.

In all, more than 270 games from this weekend until next May will be streamed in a major bonanza for water polo and its fans.

The deal will kick off with the U15 and U17 girls Australian state championships starting on Saturday.

“We are thrilled to extend our national partnership with News Corp. Australia across our marquee events the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships and National State Championships as well as the Australian Water Polo League,’’ said Water Polo Australia CEO Richard McInnes.

“In the first year of our partnership we saw unparalleled coverage and streaming of water polo and we are thrilled to be part of the new KommunityTV that provided a national platform for all the sports News Corp partners with.

“Not only will our Water Polo Australia members receive special subscription benefits that unlocks offers across all of News Corp, but the partnership will allow us to continue to reach new sports fans and grow the profile of water polo in Australia.”

News Sport Network managing director Michael Wilkins said the deal with Water Polo Australia would deliver more content from the pool across the country.

“Water Polo Australia has been a proud partner of KommunityTV since its inception as a national live streaming brand,” Wilkins said.

“It is exciting to partner with WPA again for another season of action, and this year we are stepping it up a notch.”
