Here we go again with the clock tampering (GCB, 3/10). Every blasted year. Look at it this way, Lord Mayor Schrinner, being out of sync with NSW by one hour gives you an extra hour to trade with them and creates the equivalent of the $4 billion you think you’re losing. Any Queenslander that wants to be in sync with NSW can just get up an hour earlier – there’s no need to change any clocks or inconvenience anyone else. Logician

Daylight saving sucks. Leave it alone. Just move all clocks 1/2 hour forward & forget it. Simple really. Mousey

Joe Hildebrand is amazing in that he can be completely correct and utterly wrong in a single column (03/10).

Yes, Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe is a disrespectful disgrace, but no, the socalled “Voice” is not “moderate, sensible and pragmatic”. While little can be done about Thorpe until her term expires, all sensible Australians should be rejecting the “Voice” because it is inherently and definitionally racist, and we are not a racist country regardless of the claptrap that miseducated activists spout. Michelle

The next Underbelly TV crime series could be set on the Gold Coast with unsolved murders and drive-by shootings. The increase in population without a commensurate increase in policing resources is a recipe for increased lawlessness.

Living on the Gold Coast, we all need guns and tasers to protect ourselves, not just the police.

Quizzbird (GCB, 3/10) seems only to be aware of the establishment messaging regarding Ukraine. Zelensky the “underdog”? *snort*

Zelensky has the US-NATO establishment backing him with billions of dollars and advanced weaponry. Zelensky is a puppet, literally an actor, placed in charge of a corrupted regime at tremendous cost to the citizens of that much-plundered country. Plundered, by the way, by corrupt Westerners such as the Biden crime family. MW

How ironic would it be if Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, a former KGB agent, was arrested and imprisoned or worse, by today’s equivalent of the KGB, in a coup. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving #*!

Quizzbird, don’t know who the other m w is but I am the real one and was in Vietnam. Mw

BOO hoo, koalas! Where is the concern for all the other animals such as lizards, possums, snakes, birds, wallabies etc. which cop it far worse from wild dogs and road traffic. Oh that’s right, they’re not cute enough to rake in copious amounts of money.

Mankind has survived and prospered by adapting to many climate extremes over the centuries. So why all the hysteria nowadays? It doesn’t make sense.

Some of the Gold Coast homes for sale under $2 million are bargains when you consider today’s building costs.

Apparently Noah couldn’t get the Ark to Florida in time for Hurricane Ian as he had trouble with the solar panels he had fitted, plus the electric motors took too long to charge up, so now seriously thinking of going to paddle power option. Doug

Regarding kangaroo meat sales, the vegans in the RSPCA’s ear have obviously never worked with a professional roo shooter. I have. The roo is taken out with a single shot to the head. Death is instant. They don’t know what hit them. Roos breed out of control because humans changed the landscape, first with firestick farming and then with grazing. If roos aren’t culled they’ll eat themselves, and our meat animals, out of a food supply. Starving is a far worse way to die than being shot in the head. Travis

Over 42,000,000 kangaroos in Australia and meat sales have been pulled from the shelves. Culling has not made any difference. I drove to Warwick and the side of the road was littered with dead Roos. Their meat is a good product and their hides make wonderful footwear. Barney

Welcome to country was booed at certain sporting events by mostly new Australian crowds. How about we just thank the Australians that built the country, which includes everyone.

GN. Re Juvenile criminals. Sadly, until a Judge or Politician loses a loved one killed by a juvenile, ‘laws’ won’t change. Ma

Right on KenW, the Singapore punishment would be cheaper for the

victims as well as the government. It’s time they stopped listening to the drivel the psychs have been peddling for the last 30 years. Tk

Ken W yes I agree with you, same punishment as Singapore would sort out our juvenile crime. Our weak court system can’t get it done. I have a big dog with a large bite, a golf club, baseball bat, and other items, just in case any little buggers try to break in. Hopefully I never have to use them. Welcome back Charles Bronson. Government climate policy presents a far greater threat to the health and wellbeing of our society than does climate change. Juss Sayen

Police need to triage calls by the public for assistance and include a weighting for burglary offences almost certain to result in arrests of offenders and recovery of stolen goods. For example, the situation where a young Mermaid Beach man located goods stolen

from his home and identified a burglar wearing his shoes. Instead of a happy ending there will probably be one more unsolved burglary on the police books. Outstanding!

Absolutely disgraceful that police did not respond immediately when a young man located the whereabouts of property stolen from his home and identified one of the alleged thieves. What sort of message does that send to criminals? No wonder break-ins are so prevalent on the Gold Coast when burglars know they won’t be caught.

I had a really, really stupid idea over the weekend, if AGL want to close down their power station 10 years early, why don’t we, the people, demand the federal government take it off their hands for nothing as they don’t want it, and start giving us power at an affordable price. Sounds stupid doesn’t it. Roger, ex-Miami.

To sensible Citizen who says “our ABC has no biased reporting”? Do I see

your tongue firmly planted in your cheek? If not, you’re a funny man. John Mc

By far the most boring grand final of footy. Ever. Two Sydney teams and one that didn’t turn up. Boring. Bring on the Cowboys next season!!!

Green and Gold, Dylan Edwards. Latrell who?

Blunder helps win GF! Now u know how Cowboys felt, loosing by a few! Didn’t deserve to win anyway! Non NRL fan!!!

Sorry but I would have gladly put up with the Wiggles than listen to those so-called music acts prior to the NRL Grand Final on Sunday night. Thank goodness for the remote. Doug

Anybody else think the NRL spider cam view is crap?

DJFraser – why are you not honest and just admit your problems are a result of your beloved Labor Party’s

rule of shame? Ozman

Annastacia’s arrogance and strange powers she possesses over the naive public, as well as her own MPs, has got her Qld Treasurer Cameron Dick feeling so humiliated after she dumped his Land Tax concept on TV without consulting him first, which has left him humiliated beyond repair. Then again Annastacia is known for her arrogance and lack of diplomacy, shown by many female politicians who suffer with the dreaded power importance syndrome, which is a major turnoff for us males. KenW.

Palachuck still Queen of BS. Makes promises, spends heaps, fails to deliver tangible results. 4218
