I’m off for a walk around Burleigh headland. I’m going to do this regularly before it’s declared a sacred site, then closed to all of us. It’s not ‘if’ it’s going to be closed to us. It’s when! I believe Burleigh Headland is next. I wonder? Shouldn’t we all be mending racial relations? Not making them worse? Davy. Palm Beach.

Great GCB article (23/1/23) about the shortage of rental properties on the GC forcing young people (workers) to move away to find accommodation elsewhere. Which then begs the question why are they continuing to extend the LR to the airport. Everyone knows that it’s mainly for tourists and developers to build more high rise units and luxury resort hotels. But if there are not enough workers it’s a waste of time and money building hotels to maintain, and people who can afford to buy or rent units along the GCH that are built in future are not going to give up their luxury cars either. Does the LR in a tourist town still make that much sense? DS.

To T. Brien, Your Say 23/01. You’ll be happy to know that the FBI raided / searched Bidens house while they were not there as reported on American news channels yesterday, finding more documents. Hope that squares the ledger. Tezza.

NZ Prime Minister resigned before being thrown out. She has done so much damage to NZ with her communism policy’s she has created racism attitudes from all people towards each other there is no true Maori left in NZ there had been so much intermarriage which is a good thing she had caused trouble in family of mixed marriages. No she was and is not the person she try’s to show to the world. Caused so much heart break during covid to the people but let a cricket team with players with positive results in to play. No she was not a good prime minister. 0ldie.

26th January is not the date that we were gifted possession of “our” land. It is the date ALL OF US became Australian citizens to live in harmony. (apparently not in reality). activists attempting to divide population can get stuffed.

Why should 1% of the population get a special ‘Voice’ to Parliament? What about Asian Australians? They make up a lot more than 1% of the population. This great land belongs to us all. We Australians are one people, and we already have a ‘Voice’. It is called the Federal Parliament. A separate indigenous ‘Voice’ is just so much leftwing BS. It is divisive and racist, and smacks of pre- Mandela apartheid South Africa, where their parliament had chambers according to race. Jolly Roger

How refreshing was it to look at the “Night Spotting” page and not see one tattoo on any male or female.

Thanks for the lecture Karen Rowles 23.1.23, obviously you haven’t used the existing light rail in the northern GC suburbs, has been busy and great to use every time l have used it. Waf

Primary public school are losing student while in independent school pupil numbers are growing. Maybe parents don’t want their kids to be brainwashed by woke lefty learning and still want them to be known as boys or girls. Caz

Re Kmart To refuse to sell Australia Day material can only be described as un-Australian. Who are these weak livered ‘executives’ who kowtow to the left, socialist anarchists. This is not virtue signalling. It’s cowardice in the face of the enemy. Lucky Phil

How funny- 4 years ago- hopeless Labor-Shorten was telling everyonehow bad the Medicare will be under

Liberals. The reality is - Medicare is suffering it’s biggest damage- right now - under this hopeless Labor - no surprises here! Labor- no clue, no idea!

With regards to the guy receiving a $1000 fine because his wife wasn’t wearing her seatbelt correctly. One wonders why she didn’t use her other arm to pull down the sun visor. And according to the paper, her foot was up on the dash; so of course her underwear could be seen! Some people will try anything to get out of a fine! Stropp Pimpama.

Somebody needs to show this PM where Alice Springs is. Imagine if Morrison didn’t get out there, he would have been crucified by the left wing media. This guy is a fraud. Peter

Mark Butler can resign for saying Medicare is not fit for purpose. Bob Hawke would be rolling in his grave. I have got no confidence in the Albanese government they are a joke.

Palachucks solution to all our problems - “we have the toughest laws already, but we will conduct a rewiew”. Her usual BS.

Have you noticed that Chatroom texts anti the Palaszczuk Govt are not being published. Ozman

Oh dear Kenneth, crime was as rampant as it is now during the Bjelke years.. All he did was stop a few snotty nosed hippies from marching. Russ

I’m not sure about all these criminal studies about the increased violence at Burleigh. It just seems GC boys and girls can’t hold their booze. For the trendy gents in their pastels and no sock-yachtie shoes combo your tight torn pants are also restricting oxygen to your heads and the lasses, all those bubbles ensure the alcohol is absorbed even faster. I can understand that it must be disrespectful to play sports on Australia day... but, is it disrespectful to burn an Australian flag on the

Queens day of mourning ? The Mad Rooster

Ooooo, a Rangi v Noel love-in. Spicey. Big Artie

Hitech maritime mines to protect our ports from what. Who’s running the Port of Darwin for example or Newcastle Mr Albanese and who came up with this cost effective lunacy Catherine Campbell.

So now the Council is to cover more green space with a university / education facility. What on earth has this got to do with council and our money? And why do we need more green space in the city covered up with buildings and car parks that don’t serve the majority of the ratepayers whose funds you are spending.

Is one of the reasons more people are swimming outside the flagged and patrolled beaches is because of the total lack of parking ? So people are going to areas where you can park and swim. If so with council’s

bad planning and parking restrictions they are making this situation worse for all of us.

Reference increase in assaults and correlation to increase in assaults by 50%; Bond University Criminologist Terry Goldsworthy said it was plausible for the increase in entertainment venues could also be linked to assaults. Mr Goldsworthy said police also needed to be doing a detailed intelligence analysis to find out the reasons behind the rise in assaults. No they don’t. The reason is simple. Blokes get pissed and fight. Reduce the closing hour of nights clubs to 1 a.m. and the problem will be halved. Darryle

Elon Musk’s tweet about his own relatively mild covid vaccine reaction, and the one about his cousin’s severe reaction, has kicked the public discussion of covid vaccine harm into high gear. Those of us who had read the research about these vaccines that the public didn’t see, and who were smeared as conspiracy theorists, will (sadly) be

proven correct. Everyone who defended these shots from a position of ignorance on the sole basis of misplaced trust in authorities need to step up, apologise, and join the fight to wake up those who remain oblivious. Chloe

Seriously, Terry K, Dutton was Minister for Defence under ScoMao. How was street crime in Alice Springs even remotely his responsibility? Marie

Burleigh violence problem is being sorted, I see 8-10 police officers around the whole night over the weekend and NO ISSUES ! Coolangatta was the same but they would have more than dozen police officers patrolling the streets an it was all peaceful ( mostly) @ lest subdued any skirmish quickly! So I won’t be avoiding hails @ Cooley & Burleigh! If council provides secure pick up ranks for taxis and other transport providers like surfers Broadbeach & Cooley will be safer for everyone!
