The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will battle it out in the NFL’s showpiece, Super Bowl LVII, at 9.30am on February 13.

And while most are pumped up for the sporting spectacle, Gold Coast local and Philadelphia Eagles fan Gracie McLaren said she was just as excited to see Rihanna perform during the halftime show.

“It’s one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year and the infectious game-day excitement surrounding the game is so electric,” she said. “I love the energy that surrounds the halftime show.”

Ms McLaren said she encouraged “first-timers” to get behind a team and “have fun celebrating a great day out”.

Rival Chiefs fan Braedon Teleiai said it had become a family tradition to watch the game.

“I’ve gotta say the vibe on the Gold Coast during the Super Bowl is great, no matter where you’re watching it from,” he said.

The Star Gold Coast will host a live screening of the game at the Sports Bar and Atrium Bar.

They planned to have live music, a range of US-inspired food, roaming entertainment, prizes and more.

The Star’s director of food and beverage Richard Fidelji said they had sold out of the Sports Bar package within hours of its release.

“It’s fantastic to see the growing interest here in Australia for the Super Bowl,” he said.

“We have been hosting the event live for a number of years at The Star Gold Coast and have seen the excitement increase year on year.”
