When in doubt do nothing Albo I am voting NO on the voice. WHY because you have not explained one word of what it is all about except the name Voice. Mr MF

Albo’s Voice referendum if successful will lead to huge compensation claims being made by ALL indigenous groups and if NZ’s Treaty of Waitangi is any example will see billions of dollars handed out to those who have no idea financially leaving them open to exploitation by the scrupulous among them and begs the question can Australia afford the payouts and what does that mean to the cost of living by ALL Australian citizens both present and future. In summary the Voice is much much more than just a Voice. Doug

Governments of all colours spent multi-millions on memorials and museums for dead service personnel but ignore the desperate needs of living veterans and those currently serving. Shame. Shame. Shame. Curly Bells

As Aussies we are all saddened and in total disbelief why Sam Kerr was not in the running for Women’s player of the year in the FIFA awards given she was runner up last year and has got better...then again in the rugby. Michael Hooper was not the winner but in the mix at least giving way to France’s Antoine Dupont

So XXXX reckons its brewery is now fully solar powered from a site 220kms away. Please tell me how their power gets from Woolooga to Brisbane without getting mixed up with everyone else’s power? Beer trucks?

Castlemaine Brewery is now 100 per cent solar powered, so if what they say is true then a carton of xxxx is going to be a lot cheaper. Barney

Where do you hide Smith, Warner, Kuwaja, Renshaw, Lyon, Hazlewood Cummins Abd Starc in the field, what a unit !!!

From cuddling babies to The Voice vote to leading the LGBTIQ+ parade – what more grandstanding will this Prime Minister do to attract votes. If you have to go to these lengths to attract votes you’re not doing a good enough job. You’re chasing popularity votes based on the wrong reasons for a PMi. Do a good job & there’s no need to waste time on publicity stunts. Many of us see through your actions.

Our village idiot, Albanese, so relaxed, sucking beer at the tennis, and yesterday standing among those LGBTI activists, the only people he’s getting support from. Any intelligent person- would move away from this idiot.

Someone of the far right who learns a particular injection is dangerous will try to warn everyone against it. Someone of the far left who learns the same may warn his friends but will insist his enemies take the shot. That’s the quintessential difference between left and right. Higgs

“Climate change” is a fake religion for suburban atheists, carefully designed to hold them in fear and awe while stealing their money and their futures but not teaching them anything about morals or ethics. Juss Sayen

I lived in the GC for 28 years. I have written a book about my life working all over Australia, managing Indigenous community stores. A good, funny story, and find it impossible to get an Aussie Bookshop, or chains of Bookstores to carry it. It’s a true story and not a love novel. Give an Aussie a go please. Terry K

Martin Oxenford & GN both have negative comments about transport minister Mark Bailey. He’ll respond to both of you & odds are high that he’ll blame the Newman Government for any problems. He does this constantly even though Labor has been in power for 17 of the last 20 years. John Mc

I switched on to watch the RLG game being played in NZ. What a waste of time it was like watching a school team giving a haka performance. Just get on with the game and forget the theatre playing. Far too much of it. Oldie.

Tom you say ‘you must ensure Public transport is built where the majority of a city’s population resides’ so why wouldn’t light rail be best going right up the middle of our linear city (Bermuda St all the way through to Southport) instead of up one side of it. That way it services many more people on both sides. Sounds like light rail along the beach gives you the right to rezone land to high rise along the route to make your comment correct that it services the majority population. ‘We don’t want urban sprawl’. How

did you come to the conclusion of what we ratepayers want? We’ve already got urban sprawl happening all the way from Brisbane to the coast. I think a majority of us don’t want high rises all along our beach front as there’s nothing attractive about SP.

Totally agree with no name about a percentage of no voters to the voice will be racially based. But the reality is if you give only one section of the community an extra say on governance, then it stands to reason that 100% of the yes vote will be racially based. Peter

Weekend after weekend, school holiday after school holiday, they come and go. Teenagers speeding dangerously along the 6 knots stretch of Mudgeeraba Creek towards Robina Shopping Centre and back. Too smart for the authorities who appear powerless to stop them. Or uninterested.

Absolutely 100% spot-on Mann! As if young folk give even the slightest s..t about anything happening in the real World, other than what’s happening on their phones, eh? Amen

All those who champion increases in interest rates to favour the investors are exactly what’s wrong with capitalism - greed

Russia’s ability to quickly overrun Europe with a great wave of thousands of tanks has been dispelled for the myth it was by one small country. During the collapse of the Soviet Union it was reported that Russia’s military hardware, including armed missiles (which need to be maintained), fell into disrepair. It’s very likely that even Russia’s nuclear capability is greatly diminished and Putin would never dare to risk being on the end of an overwhelming nuclear response from the west.

Qld Govt is all talk and no action when it comes to youth crime so what will be different after Steven Miles outburst on Friday.

Absolutely nothing. Barry. L.

A good socialist Australian government has never been tried just disengage from the consumer obsession of buying nonsense and care for communities. It will work.

A lot of developers already have a code of conduct Anne WasonMoore. It revolves around making money.

Oh dear! Another disgruntled Liberal voter! Bob Janssen bemoaning that his party is in such disarray and longing for the return of Morrison and co. He tries to blame Labor for everything, without realising that it was people like ScoMo, Smudge and Porter, along with Baaaarnaby that has led your Liberals into the wilderness. Bob, be prepared for a loooong stint in Opposition because Mr Potato Head ain’t going to get your mob back into power anytime soon. Cheers!

After reading Bob Janssen’s letter in

Saturday’s GCB about Australia heading towards Marxism, I looked under my bed to see if there were any reds.

Ken W I agree with most of your thoughts in regards to Labor as a realist I understand Labor are in power federally and in most states I don’t like it but that is what it is why because the Liberals lost elections Labor did not win them if we want this to change poor the scorn on the liberals they are the ones at fault locally look at Crisafulli the duck and her Mob give him a 100 or more opportunities a day to tear her apart but he does not have the bottle Liberals will never see strength again until they get fair dinkum

Mr MF

There are too many dodgy, unscrupulous business people in the Gold Coast who break every rule in the book and benefit personally from it while leaving creditors in the lurch. Company laws need to be toughened up.
