Big thumbs down for Telstra, a so called technology company, whose site crashes when supposed Telstra Plus Customers, try & get Pink tickets as part of the pr-sale. Who would have thought that it would cause heavy traffic! GL 4213

I’ve coined a phrase:” There’s more sharks on GC Sands than in the water “way back in early 70s way before I ever set foot on GC! EVERYTHING I EVER READ about gc business and work it ALWAYS SOUNDED TO GOOD TO BE TRUE! And it ALWAYS WAS! So never bothered coming till I was looking towards retirement and didn’t need to deal with anyone, only to buy a house and am very happy where I am ! As for rest I couldn’t care less ! SHARKS CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE BUT CAN NEVER RUIN THE WEATHER! Same goes for local and state governments!

When are we going to see a female transgender athlete competing in male competitions?

Lots of new voters next election from the people smugglers Albo. Once you have got rid of the temp visa application the boat people will head to Australia. One could only hope

that they all arrive on the shores of Kirribilli House. Really! A very Dumb decision! By a Dumb Government, was this one of your Plans too? KB Tweed

Labor and the greens love the word Disinformation, a word which has slowly but steadily been perverted by egocentric leaders to curb criticism and maintain the control of information. Those political leaders who detest scrutiny need it the most. Jonesy

Power bills in Victoria – over $4000/ year – what? Where is this “free energy from sun “promised by this Communist Regime of Andrews Government? Renewables not working that good? Surprised? Maybe should stop listening to this con climate propaganda?

Get your heads out of your bums all of you with responsibility for parking on the Gold Coast, be

it in state or local government. The parking crisis here is a direct result of woefully inadequate planning requirements which have pandered to developers, at the expense of road-users, for far too long. The time to do something about it is now, not when it gets even worse.

Jeff Davidson’s letter (GCB 13/2) outlining some of the great transformational achievements of the Whitlam government was a shining light in a sea of right-wingery.

Why do so many readers keep texting saying QLD opposition leader Crisafulli, is weak and not holding Palaszczuk accountable? I see Crisafulli on the news every night slamming our woeful QLD Labor govt! Razr

More dribble from the minister of education. How about doing your job doing what the Qld Gov was elected to do. Not fall of the cliff going left and forget about real issues. Voting yes will send the country into submission with law suits do some research look around. Bill

Paul Keating had a way with words. Love him or hate him, he made parliament a much more interesting place than it is today.

Surely bankers sit high on the list of poorly regarded professionals. The not-so-poor dears must be having nightmares about being pressured by a parliamentary grilling into raising interest rates for deposits, commensurate with the rises for borrowers. Why not pre-empt the shame by doing it now. It might be mistaken as a redeeming gesture.

A big thank you to the Brits for the First Fleet in 1788. Australia is the most stable, multicultural constitutional monarchy with the best flag in the world. Our Founding Fathers in 1901 would be proud of Australia today. Jolly Roger

When ppl stop using the word black or white for that matter describing human beings it’ll be a positive step forward in reconciliation.

No wonder Medicare is struggling. Taxpayers’ money in government hands is seen as a giant honey pot and rorted big time by over-servicing through unnecessary procedures and testing and fraud. A recent report by the NSW Health Services Union found $2 billion of the NSW health budget was wasted annually. There needs to be closer scrutiny of interactions between health professionals and marketers of devices to ensure incentives are not contributing to an unnecessary overuse of expensive devices.

All Australians live in a state and federal electorate. We all have the vote. All Australians are equal before the law. Why should 3% of the population get a special deal with the ‘Voice’ because of their race? That is apartheid. If the referendum succeeds it will lead to a treaty, indigenous sovereignty, and massive financial compensation for all the ‘wrongs’ done since 1788. Albo’s Kumbaya socialism is utter hokum.

Maybe the US, Canada and any other country that Chinese balloons are flying over should send their own balloons over China to drop pamphlets proclaiming the advantages of living in a democracy rather than a thinly veiled dictatorship.

No wonder a lot of youngsters are having trouble with reading and writing nowadays. Their parents are giving them Christian names changing the traditional spelling with “Ks replacing “Cs” etc.

It may be a dumb question with a simple answer but need to ask it anyway, if the basket of products and services that contribute toward our CPI and hence inflation included the rise of mortgage costs would that not increase the inflation rate? If so why do we consider it the answer to inflation, it seems self perpetuating to me even though it is not reflected along with fuel, food and the rest of

the basket. After all is not keeping a roof over your head not considered as an essential need?

Just look at the Monday morning traffic chaos, on the Goldie, due to one accident. Just shows you how many people use your useless trams Tom! Palmy Steve

THE VOICE: How about giving the victims of crime a VOICE in the sentencing!

I told my daughter I saw a deer on the way to work this morning. She said “How do you know it was on its way to work?”

If “The Voice” gets passed …(heaven forbid). Will that give Albo more or less power?

Bank abuse of customers has been rife for as long as there have been banks. They excel at getting government support in times of crisis, overcharging tax paying borrowers for services (sometimes even dead ones for whom the services were not provided), closing bank branches and raising interest rates for borrowers but not for depositors. Royal commissions into banks and parliamentary grilling achieve token reforms and the misdeeds continue. Ordinary individuals would be jailed for less than some of the things banks have done.
