Called into Mooball Pub for a quick beer, XXXX Gold schooner – $8. Decided to pick up a carton of Hollandia on the way home – $32 in 2018 and $47 today. Price gouging is a one of the reasons we have inflation. Shredder
Omg, just travelled from Parkwood to Bargara for a bit of a break, leaving early on a Friday morning. I do not believe the stupid idiots on the road that time of morning, especially tradies who have no respect for any other drivers at all, cutting in, sitting up people’s backside at 110, and where the bloody hell did all the young pplaters get their license from? Just as bad. No wonder M1 is a disaster waiting to happen every day. But there is more happened all the way up the coast to Bunderberg. I’ve driven all over Australia, QLD has the worst drivers I’m sure. I’m moving to the moon, don’t speed there, too many craters. Over it. Parkwood.
If the Voice to Parliament is just an advisory body then why does it need to be enshrined into our constitution. Something is just not right with this now that Labor has abandoned their election promises to focus and promote this as their only priority.
I sometimes wonder, if we returned to building basic three and fourbedroom homes, would the young be more able to afford to buy. Do we really need all the bells and whistles for a first home? Diz
Albo is so wishy-washy. Albo is the most gutless Prime Minister we’ve probably ever had. Make no mistake. When China threatened us with a violent takeover, the first military thing Albo will do is surrender. We’ll ask “why didn’t we put up a fight?” There will be no excuse as the press will be censored. These are worrying times. Davy, Palm Beach.
KenW you are quite correct, but if disadvantaged and often mistreated children are taken from their harmful environment just wait for the familiar chant of “stolen generation” to begin.
Ian Levers QPS union rep, the only one with enough guts to call out magistrates and make them accountable. Premier Ian Levers has a good ring to it.
I reckon a great way to stop kids’ crime is to assemble a bunch of charismatic, now smarter, no longer dumb, ex-crims to do school tours talking about how horrific life is behind bars. Lots of philanthropic money around to get this off the ground.
Juvenile crime rates remain the hottest topic. The judiciary, perceived as being weak and letting down police enforcement and public expectations, is obviously in need of strong, undebateable and mandated legislation. That can only come from a government in touch with public outcry, which now is demanding tougher laws and action.
KJ, your neighbour with the machete chasing off young criminals didn’t report it to the police because he would have been charged. That’s how sick our (so-called) justice system is. John Nc
Youth bail being breached with no consequences in Queensland is the same as Australian Family Court orders being breached with no consequences. Now we are stuck with a bunch of fatherless child criminals. Johnbrew
Our loss in the first two Tests in India highlights (1) very poor selection of team and captain and (2) their application to the task. Pat Cummins, nice guy and opening bowler, has shown that such players alone should not be captains. Batsmen or “all rounders” and not bowlers is what is required. Clearly Cummins has too much on his mind at home and was, with just a total of 4 wickets, a supernumerary on tour. Philby, Tugun
Tony Abolony declares proudly “I am the first PM to march in the gay mardi gras”. Understandably so Tones, no other PM would compromise their principles to snatch a few more votes/followers with such a cheap trick. Have I got your attention haters, activists and green people? Troll on dirt bags.
Is the mardi gras the last chance of catching a glimpse of our prime minister on Australian soil for a while?
Thanks to Darryle Knowles for his letter re proposed body corporate legislation, with nothing on the cards in regard to making it easier to remove a problem resident manager. Definitely needs to be a
