The Gold Coast Bulletin

Presented to the public as marvellous ideas in the future.

Cableway critics should go to Cairns and experience their wonderful and much loved gondola ride over ancient rainforest. Gold Coast should copy it, much to the benefit of locals and tourists. NIMBYs can go jump.

Carparking can be fixed by council and state government giving a rate and land tax exemption on carparks. The private sector will provide the carparks. Housing costs can be fixed by council doing the utilities infrastructure upfront and using the next 10 years of future rates to pay for the utilities. Under the current situation the developer pays for the utilities, and the home buyer pays 10% gst and bank interest on the lot for 30 years. Jeff

If “The Voice” gets passed .... (heaven forbid). Will that give Albo more or less power?

We are told how bad things are economically and then we are

saying how many wellheeled if buyers of $10m super yachts!!! Hmmmmm. Yep a two speed economy is alive and well on the GC. Grey sharks and cashed up fedora/akubra wearing yuppies from Sydney and Melbourne that have pushed the GC to breaking point with traffic and pushed property prices out of reach. I hope they all leave in droves soon. I hear a lot are as the honey moon that was once a holiday is now over as the real world sets in. This is a little “sugar hit” that will hopefully end soon.

I heard that the Gabba oval is going to have a massive facelift costing millions. Wouldn’t it be better to wait until the Lions have a much better team. Port Supporter

The high price of seafood has made catching fish from a small boat cheaper than buying it again.

If you were part of the Optus breach and are still waiting for a new licence be aware that after the 28th

February you have to pay for a replacement. I applied in October in person and they can’t find the request.

Crooks now in Qld? Pulease, they’ve been here longer than most folk! Just like the gypsy’s annual trip to the area! Need a cheap new roof job or a brand new driveway? Every year people get stung! Sheesh, you’d think they’d learn from past mistakes, eh? Ooroo

Hot tip! Expensive electric cars, bicycles and solar panels are catching fire all over the world, so give them a big miss. Climate change hysteria based on blinding BS has a lot to answer for.

On top of a youth crime wave there are youths on jetskis with rooster tails behind and in aluminium dinghies at 45 degree angles to the water in a 6 knot speed limit stretch of Mudgeeraba Creek. And trail bikes are being ridden along the creek footpath presenting a danger to lawful users. This is only a

small part of the out of control city of Gold Coast.

Paul Weston’s opinion piece in GCB 24/2 re home insurance, we live in Eagleby, and our renewal notice shows increase from last yr $1303 now for this yr they want $2965.20. Insurer told us we had been rezoned higher for flood risk. One major insurance player quoted $7031. We are insuring the house for only $385k. This is madness. We have lived here 14yrs and water has came nowhere near us. We are pensioners and the increase makes it really tough. RBE.

Queensland has the worst drivers in the country. The respective statistics per capita would support that. The main offenders are the tradies and the red ‘P’ platers. I am in a position where I sign-off on a lot of traffic infringement notices, so I get an understanding of what type infringements. Some of the ‘P’ platers are disgusting. Have a licence for a few weeks and they think they know it all. Squizz.
