I’m sick of reading about the latest plans of Gold Coast high fliers whose companies have gone broke in the past leaving lots of unpaid creditors millions of dollars out of pocket. The place seems to be full of them.

One major supermarket price gouging. Sharpen your pencils people, go take a look!

Sorry to hear the extra lane on the M1 to Tugun is going to take an extra year. Meanwhile the largest Airport in the world (with a 58000 tonne roof held up with 8 columns) was completed in 4•5years in Beijing!

Given the trouble arising out of the airshow in Perth trying to get spectators in and away from the event one can only imagine the

I seem to remember our PM saying sometime ago that we were all in this together. I suppose that means how the country is governed ? If that is the case, why aren’t, we all in this together taking cutbacks? Why isn’t the Govt tightening its belt? Why are politicians , churches to name just a couple exempt from the said “togetherness ”? Time to ask people.

Put the heart back into surfers paradise- Why is Tom Tate and the GCCC avoiding Desmond Brooks’ concept of removing the cars from the beach of Surfers Paradise? A Southbank style park and lagoons along the esplanade would be a world class attraction. Finally putting Surfers Paradise truly on the beach. 40yr resident.

How good was Campbell Newman!! If only you’d voted for him again, hey. Saving money by Reducing govt staff & controlling the bikies just two of the great things he did.

Could it be the first time in history where the Prime Minister and treasurer are both sacked at the same time. Jack

“Conspiracy theorist” is the term used to discredit someone who speaks about things you can’t bear to consider, because if they were true, they would reveal a darkness in the world that you’re not ready to accept. CT

With the new AFL season about to start soon, the boss Gill McLaughlan has a decision to make regarding a Tasmanian AFL side. Well if their Premier is willing to spend half the amount on a new boutique stadium to hold 23,000( should be 25 to 30,000 in my book), which is $375 million on the table, it should easily be enough, as the QLD government built one a new state of the art stadium for the NRL cowboys in Townsville for $250 million to hold 25,000 just 3 years ago. Unless there is 10% going to the big guys in both the Governments and the AFL clubs, cut the BS about costing $750k million to build and get on with it. The Godfather.

There will always be people who overdo things. Like loading plates to over-flowing at self-serve, eat-all-you-want, fast food joints or having more than $3 million in superannuation.

Here’s a short list of things we tinfoilers were right about. The lab release. Effective natural immunity. Ineffective masks. Damaging lockdowns. Dangerous vaccines. Faked Covid fatality numbers. Damaging hospital protocols. Ivermectin cures. Evil Dr Fauci. Evil WHO. World power grab. So, what were the “trust the science” cult right about? Nothing whatsoever. Are you awake yet? Alison

Magie Thatcher told UK Labor years ago that it is not possible to tax a nation into prosperity. ALBO and Chalmers should have been paying attention.

If churches like Hillsong paid taxes maybe superannuation could remain unchanged.

JP Barker, former PM, Morrison should have held his ground on Jobkeeper and not allowed the country to be locked down and then most of what is happening now would have been avoided. I hope you are as hard on Albanese when his absurd policies hurt the poorest of us. Peter

So, one pack of says trust the science on the environment and the other pack of says don’t trust the science on Covid and vax – who am I to believe? Will the sun come up tomorrow? Help me out here. Scotty

A report that Queensland is the only state where apartment dwelling approvals have increased (by 25.6%), needs to be viewed with caution. A high percentage of development

approvals, particularly on the Gold Coast, do not transition to construction and are more about enhancing a property’s value. Rising interest rates, the high cost of building materials and labour, building companies going into liquidation and buyer caution will weigh on developers’ minds.

Sinking, sinking .... dopey conservatives are headed towards oblivion because they won’t stand on traditional principles and instead cowtow to mindless minorities bent on a woke wonderland and/or stifling socialism. Get some guts Libs and truly represent the silent but suffering majority. Remember that only one third of voters backed Albo at the last election. So a huge opportunity to make up ground.

Make schools enjoyable for students and teachers by shortening the school week and cutting out the policy nonsense and homework. More young people will take up teaching as a career and students will achieve markedly better results. Stop making

something that should be, and used to be, simple complicated.

I have protected myself from online bullying and predators by never using social media. Old man.

Already the football season has started. And that horrible ch 9 refuses to show the second game for the free to air viewers. And not one game on Saturday out of three. What a disgrace 9. Ex

Wow! Truly wish I had have attended the audience at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, for the annual TSS Business Luncheon, with the former Prime Minister, John Howard. Not only words of experience & wisdom, but a reflection of the man who’s team worked tirelessly & admirably for the present and future of Australia. We could have thanked him, personally, for the initiative he had for drought affected farmers, and the one of sum of monetary help, we received, with a letter attached: never to be repaid. We thanked him, at the time, but could have shook his hand and

advise what a help it had been, whilst farming & employing, and raising a young family in the far west of NSW. Just a thought

Wayne Bennett the Master Coach too old too shrewd too wise.. congrats to all involved with the new Dolphins NRL organisation. Doug

Rangi the renderer me thinks.

Bloody hell don’t let Blocker commentate on Balmain games had to turn off his one sided dribble. Mw

With the NRL up and running steady why does the AFL always start 1 or 2 weeks later. I know that cricket has the contract rights to the big cricket Ovals 6 months of the year, but really who plays there in March, when the big bash and Test matches are over by February.State shield matches attract a few hundred spectators that could play on smaller grounds around the country.Fair dinkum it’s time the AFL grease some palms of the CA board members to get control of the all the big cricket Oval’s for the month of

March at least and possibly October as well if necessary down the track.DS.

Well done to all the Qld football teams. Mousey

We don’t need to take over Philip Park with anything. It is a great asset to the coast as one of the few useful and easily accessible car parks on the beachfront for miles. Great access to the beach and a lifeguard tower right there. Not seen anywhere else for miles. Hands off and leave it as it is. Not another commercial enterprise. Keep that to the western side of the Spit. GN

Here we go…. All the sleuths come in to town with the spit ideas to remodel the place. No private enterprise at the spit. AJ hacker can take his bungy and jump. Just the leave the place alone.

Hey Big Artie and Noel. How do you two feel about the Qld Reds coach now. A 71 to 20 victory against the Force seems a pretty good result for a coach that you two experts say should be on the way out. KSF.
