ALL TRAILS LEAD TO CANUNGRA FESTIVAL

- CRYSTAL FOX

FESTIVAL-GOERS are amping up to watch pop rock group Lime Cordiale headline a jampacked day on beautiful landscapes, only a short drive from the Coast.

A part of the Queensland Music Trail’s 2023 program, The Long Sunset will make its way back to Elysian fields at Canungra on April 29.

Lime Cordiale, singer Tia Gostelow and funk hip hop band Winston Surfshirt will play on the fields of green and Queensland Music Trail’s director and CEO Joel Edmondson said he was more than excited.

“I’m full of anticipation,” he said.

The Long Sunset made it’s festival debut last year and more than 5000 people turned up to watch headliners Angus and Julia Stone and the variety of other acts.

“The feedback was that being able to enjoy world-class acts in a crowd this size is the perfect balance of an electric atmosphere without the long queues or mud slides,” Mr Edmondson said.

“We were also pleasantly surprised by the mix of people that turned up.

“It was quite an unusual blend of families and your regular festival-going young adults which created a welcoming yet zany crowd.”

Mr Edmondson said the Elysian fields, which also doubles as a polo ground, was one of the “most picturesque” event sites in Australia.

Six-piece Australian act Winston Surfshirt said while they had never been to Canungra, they couldn’t wait to get back to southeast Queensland.

“It’s been a while seen we’ve been back to that part of Australia and the crowds are always so fun,” they said.

The Sydney-based band said they would be performing some songs from their new album ‘Panna Cotta’.
