So demoralising you come home to watch the NRL, and Dan “nose” Ginnane is calling the match with its prolonged droooooled out dribble, it’s a mystery how he gets the gig over Spud Caroll . Mick

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me. Easy. 4cr

To Mark Bailey (Minister of Transport &Main Roads). Sir, you appear to be very quick to answer questions regarding the light rail. Here’s one for you minister. All covert cameras have been installed to reduce the road toll, but definitely not to raise revenue. (So you say). So minister please tell me why the road toll last year was higher than 2010. Please answer this question minister .... an awful lot of Queenslander’s are awaiting your answer. 4215.

Sheesh! Now the hysterics are blaming the fall of the Roman Empire on climate change. Doesn’t the monumental BS ever stop.

Watching the news I do think the State or Federal government should put a rent freeze on, the owners and real estate agencies are going too far with the increasing of rents young families being put on the street is criminal housing should always be affordable the renter is not there to pay the mortgage taking a mortgage to have a rental investment is your responsibility not your tenants. Nan

I would like to see Tom Tate and Mark Bailey stay in a apartment at Palm Beach for a few months and then tell us how the tram is going to improve traffic flow.

Now Airbus Albo is off to the USA. We may as well convert a jumbo jet into Parliament House so all our pollies can keep up with him. Johnbrew

150 billion on these nuclear submarines, what a joke, the Communist war machine will take these duds out with one strike, it’s easier to cut All ties with Communism !!! Take back what they own in Australia, ban Chinese immigration and stop supplying them with food, coal and uranium.

Seems, as well as doing the usual checks before buying a property, it’s sadly become blatantly obvious, that a check of neighbours all round needs to be carefully, seriously considered before purchase. Amen

Billionaire gives millions in donation to Voice campaign. Am i getting this wrong but wouldn’t millions help the homeless, hospitals, etc. It seems an uneven campaign as I notice no donations to No vote. Maz.

Yegods! Where have all the tough Aussies gone? Where once if we copped a tough blow, we took it on the chin, learnt a lesson & just moved on, with a funny yarn to relate! There was never any of this angst ridden, anxiety filled, bloody boo-hoo, poor bloody me crap! Grow a spine & get over it! Hmph

Any chance for our MP Meaghan Scanlon and local Council to check what is happening here in Nerang, crn. of McLaren rd. and Gilston, the “Russian roulette” roundabout, near misses every 5 minutes, accidents every day. Developer is building thousands of homes along Gilston rd. The same single lines as we had for the past 50 years. Maybe is time to construct traffic lights before someone gets killed here. Slow down those idiots always in a hurry.

I don’t know how sports television ratings are assessed and compared because many viewers, like myself, would have watched both rugby league and cricket, switching channels to watch a bit of each.

Can we please go back to touring car races as this V8 supercar rubbish is not worth turning your tv on.

There is a lot of hype involved in spruiking Gold Coast as a great property investment destination. Many homeowners and investors saw little capital gain for many years until the Covid boom. And is likely that there will soon be a fall in property values as a result of interest rate rises and other factors, followed by a long period of capital gain doldrums.

So the Premier is going to declare “War on vapes”? What a joke. To bad she doesn’t declare “a war” on these teenage thugs/ morons too. Don’t talk about it Premier...do something about for Gods sake. COOLY KEV.

Surfers Paradise in the 70’s, what a fun place to holiday, regrettably it had to grow up but it lost it’s 70’s beach vibe forever. Back then cheeky comments and whistles from The Birdwatchers Bar did not offend unlike today. Good times! Cheers Ernie & Spidge. Loz

As an AFL fan, I have to admire the

NRL going on the front foot with plans to expand to 20. They have the best sports administrator in the country by far they are going to close the gap real soon In National popularity if the AFL doesn’t get a move on. For starters they need to get to 20 teams first straight away together to create 10 games a week for more broadcast money. That means Tasmania and another from 4 or 5 other cities to pick from Darwin, Brisbane, Canberra, Cairns or Perth. Whoever misses out after that will have to wait for a relocation or merger from Melbourne as 10 games a week to broadcast is more than enough due to their length of playing time.

Can anyone tell me when the NRL are going to stop “the extra man on the field” during every game. The socalled “waterboys” etc are coaching throughout the entire 80 minutes constantly in the play. Old Codja

With the extinction of Falcons and Commodors the V8 Supercars have gone all American so why not invite the Mopar boys in to play It might make it a bit more interesting.

Is it an NRL Law that when the ball goes out of play the ball boy must place the ball on the ground then it’s picked up by the player who then passes it in field to his team mate and if so on many occasions over the first two rounds the ball boy has passed the ball directly to the player who then passes it infield, does the touch judge and those in the bunker have to go to Specsavers?? Doug

Van Gisburn has 10 hp more than any other car and wins by bumping anyone in his way.

Tim tzyu world champion absolutely brilliant total gentleman nice guy just like his father take some beating Bicycle Kev

Ken Wade. Please open both eyes. Your love of LNP is well documented. If you look around the Western world you will note problems with inflation and interest rises is a world problem regardless who is in power Britain a prime example with be its conservative govt. By the way this commenced before last election. Steve Tweed.

The report on the front page of the GC Bulletin 13/3 does not surprise me one little bit. I have many parents, who are teachers, presenting me with Education at Home application. The teachers are being threatened, the children are being bullied and being forced threatened if they don’t join gangs that terrorise the streets at night. The teachers are in fear for their own well being. People say that will never happen here. Well it’s happening here. Many of my friends, who were teachers, have taken a new path in life. We are not far off of seeing a fatality in a school unless Governments stop talking and get serious. Squizz.

To answer the question about where does road funding come from when everyone drives an EV, Victoria requires EV owners to send in a photo of their odometer each year and taxes them according to distance travelled. Yep. All the goodness of a family home is out the window. All the youngies are interested is burying head in phone and going out to clubs and bars!! They don’t know how to cook. How to keep a home. How to manage budgets. They want the expensive car and $100k PA jobs straight out of school. They live with mum and dad till they are 40 because they say “poor me” life is difficult. Yeh right!! Get me the violins.

Agree with maintenance issues on GC. I don’t think Councillor’s inspect their own electorate’s. Absolutely disgraceful parks, gardens and streets. Long grass and litter. Especially southern Gold Coast.

To the person inquiring (GCB 11/3), Science Believer is still here! I’m just sitting and laughing at the numbskulls on the Gold Coast and the GCB contributor in Cairns, that don’t have much grey matter to understand science and its importance. For the most part, if these people that are anti-science had another brain cell, it would still be lonely! Science Believer
