Developmen­t of towers higher and more dense than allowed for in the City Plan is not a “renaissanc­e” as an editorial in the GCB on 30/5/2023 suggests. It is a despoiling of the amenity of the Gold Coast that once was so attractive to both residents and holiday makers. When this developmen­t cycle peaks, the Gold Coast will languish as resident and holiday makers look to more attractive, and natural coastal destinatio­ns.

Jail as a last resource sentencing guidelines are an outrage to victims of crime and confirmati­on the powers that be have no idea about public order. The sentencing guidelines need to reflect public sentiment. After all the public elects the powers that be.

Now he turns his back once again, this time on the Indigenous Voice issue put before him. Is not this the perfect example of Re-racialisio­n.
