All those floods every year, a constant reminder how useless the Politicians here are. All their usual rubbish talk about great volunteers and how resilient communities are and no solutions . Footpaths in front of homes and vehicle crossings are not for parking and shouldn’t be. Residents of a house in our street in Robina with 2 work utes, 2 SUVs, a large boat and a smaller dinghy on trailers plus a camper van treat the vehicle crossing and footpath in front of the house as private parking for 3 of their vehicles. Reports to council have achieved nothing.

I agree with DS (20/12) about climate emissions.What is it with our politicians when they gain power, they fall under the spell of big globalist organisations that put them in a trance about the climate,and that they must get rid of fossil fuels ASAP. One of the many problems with land development in Australia to supply lots for housing is the ability of developers to trickle out land releases in small stages to maintain or increase prices. Development Approvals should have staged numbers and timeframes which could be varied in special circumstances.

Most kids today are a lot smarter than the ageing movers and shakers who think they run this country through business and the media think.
