GC psychic predictions for 2024 on Glitter Strip
This is one forecast the Gold Coast should not fear. While it might still be too scary to sneak a peek at the Bureau of Meteorology radar, there are plenty of positive predictions when it comes to the year in store for this city.
At least, that’s what I was told during a tarot and astrology reading for the Gold Coast.
Astrologer Wikitoria Ogorek and tarot reader and psychic medium Michael Rowbotham, from Chameleon New Age Salon in Surfers Paradise – which hosts a free 2024 forecast this Saturday – gave a preview of what’s written in the stars and on the table for our city in the first quarter of the year.
I should note here the duo’s reading was done with the bare minimum of preparation. I called their shop at 4pm and they FaceTimed me for the reading just 13 minutes later.
In other words, there was no time to concoct a narrative … and I say that because there are a few predictions here which seem eerily specific. Now, do I believe in all of this? Who cares? As well as being a fun exercise, it’s worthwhile to have these conversations to contemplate not just what is happening in this city, but what could and should happen.
So let’s get started.

JANUARY
Wikitoria’s astrological prediction: As of January 1, Mercury will come out of retrograde. The resulting clearer communication means business will boom, more contracts will be signed and council will be “more productive” with blockages lifted and conflicts cleared.
Michael’s Tarot reading: Pulling the Six of Disks, followed by the Ten of Disks, means success, wealth and a
boom for our local economy. There will be a particular emphasis on retail businesses targeting young men.
The Two of Knights card indicates an influx of people coming to the Gold Coast, possibly related to “more sporting teams”.
(Note: that could well be music to the Mayor’s ears, who just weeks ago proposed Heritage Bank Stadium at Carrara should be the temporary home of the AFL’s Lions and for major cricket matches while the Gabba was redeveloped.)
Not so great, however, was the Three of Swords card, meaning there would be an event on the Gold Coast that would sadden residents.
“It could actually be more storm activity, there is a lot of that energy. That will intensify in January, whether that will be a storm of the calibre we saw at Christmas, I don’t know,” Michael said. “But residents should be prepared.”
FEBRUARY
Wikitoria’s astrological prediction: With a new moon in Aquarius, it will be a time of new beginnings for the community with a clearer focus on goals, visions and ideals.
This could mean more effective political and community action for issues like youth crime on the Gold Coast.
Michael’s Tarot reading: The Fool card means a time of fertility for the city, with another surge in the economy, especially for investors.
Meanwhile, the Two of Cups card indicates the Gold Coast will “become enamoured with a new political sweetheart, with feminine energy”.

MARCH
Wikitoria’s astrological prediction: A
March 25 lunar eclipse in Libra, the sign of justice and interpersonal relationships, means the truth will come out about a power struggle in council.
(Note: Local council elections will be held on March 16.)
Michael’s Tarot reading: There will be a ‘changing of the guard’ that will rejuvenate the city.
“This person will recognise the gemstones we have in this city, like Surfers Paradise, and really help them come into their own,” said Michael.
“The High Priestess card shows this female influence will really make a difference with their knowledge and experience.”
While business will still bubble along this month, it will be a calmer economic environment.
“Overall, this is a really good start to the year, it’s a great time to sow seeds and I think we’ll all be reaping the rewards later in 2024.”
