‘Likes em young’ - court file

Whistleblower deposition in court: What Epstein told me about Clinton

- Hayley Goddard and Zoe Smith

Former US President Bill Clinton was claimed to have said he liked them young in a tranche of previously-sealed documents from a lawsuit connected to disgraced financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein were released.

Mr Clinton is expected to come up over 50 times in the court documents, which have been unwrapped following a ruling by New York Judge Loretta Preska — although he and the more than 170 others identified are not accused of any wrongdoing or partaking in any of Epstein’s crimes.

The documents were part of a since-settled 2015 defamation that Australian-based accuser Virginia Giuffre brought against

Epstein madam and convicted sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell

Among them was a transcript from the deposition of whistleblower Johanna Sjoberg, who made several allegations of sexual misconduct against Epstein.

She testified in court that Epstein allegedly told her that Mr Clinton “likes them young”, while referring to girls.

The first documents to emerge from the wad of papers include an email sent by Maxwell, reported The Sun.

In it, Maxwell wrote: “I can’t even see what life after press hell even looks like.

“Statements that don’t address all just lead to more questions. What is my relationship to Clinton? Andrew? On and on.”

Another document details statements Maxwell gave about Mr Clinton (pictured right).

She denied Mr Clinton had been to Epstein’s island, but confirmed he had been on Epstein’s plane and had a meal. Mr Clinton has not publicly commented on the contents of the documents.

She also stated she knew Mr Clinton’s longtime personal aide Doug Band, who was also identified in the documents.

Asked if she had a relationship with Mr Band, Maxwell said: “We are talking about adult consensual relationships, it’s off the record.”

Maxwell said Prince Andrew — who has long denied being a co-conspirator of Epstein — visited Epstein’s island once, but claimed only female staff and not girls were present.

Maxwell “did not recall” being in London with Ms Giuffre and Prince Andrew – even though photographs exist showing the trio together.

The documents also revealed that Ms Sjoberg’s deposition also referenced Michael Jackson, David Copperfield and Donald Trump, who were also named on Thursday.

“I met Michael Jackson … at [Epstein's] house in Palm Beach,” Ms Sjoberg said, adding that she “did not” massage the late musician. She said David Copperfield attended a dinner at one Mr Epstein’s homes and “he did some magic tricks”.

In the deposition she was asked: “Did Copperfield ever discuss Jeffrey’s (Epstein’s) involvement with young girls with you?”.

To which she replied: “He questioned me if I was aware that girls were getting paid to find other girls”, explaining that he did not tell her any specifics. Ms Sjoberg also said they went to one of Donald Trump’s casinos in Atlantic City after a storm prevented Mr Epstein's plane from landing in New York City.

“Jeffrey (Epstein) said, Great, we’ll call up Trump and we’ll go to – I don’t recall the name of the casino, but – we’ll go to the casino,” she said.

She replied “no” when asked if she ever gave Mr Trump a massage. According to US media reports, the names will be released on a rolling basis. Almost 1000 pages were released on Thursday.

Two women mentioned in the Epstein files have asked Judge Preska to keep their identities anonymous. One of the women, who claims her safety will be at risk if she is named, has until January 22 to make her arguments to the court, The New York Post reported. A motion by the other woman, identified in court papers as Jane Doe 110, is being reviewed by the judge.

Epstein, 66, died in a Manhattan prison in 2019 while he was awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence.
