But not stirred in win

Godolphin may have saved the best until last with Shaken winning again at Royal Randwick on Saturday with star jockey Tyler Schiller confident the blueblood filly still hasn’t hit top gear.

Shaken was bred to be a star as a daughter of I Am Invincible out of Godolphin’s Blue Diamond winner and Golden Slipper runner up Earthquake and is beginning to show it on track.

July this year has forced trainer James Cummings to be patient with his lightly-raced sprinter but she has returned in top order this summer.

She made a comeback from a mandatory three-month ban with a brilliant four-length win at Warwick Farm first-up from a spell, following it up with another terrific performanc­e on Saturday.

Schiller believes Shaken, now a winner of three of her five career starts, has plenty of improvemen­t left with a litany of options for the three-year-old filly in the coming months.

“She is very quick, she is brave as well and is very well bred,” he said.

“She is a lovely filly. “There is plenty (of improvemen­t) left.

“I think when something challenges her, that is going to be the big test but I think she has a few more gears up her sleeve. She is pretty brave.”

Shaken showed her versatilit­y in her latest win at Randwick.

She had trailed the leader and won on a heavy track first up but had to take up the ascendancy on a good track on Saturday with Schiller controllin­g matters from in front.
