Versatile forest estate
A secluded Currumbin Valley estate with a hoop pine forest amphitheatre built to host VIP events and productions is up for grabs.
Solis Estate has featured in music videos by Astronaut in the Ocean rapper Masked Wolf, and was the location for a wild party hosted by international DJ Fisher during the pandemic.
The luxury 3.55ha property on Tomewin Mountain Rd in the Currumbin Valley is marketed by Emisha Canning, of Harcourts Coastal, and goes to auction on February 10.
Perched on Tomewin Mountain and commanding ocean views, Solis has been owned by fitness entrepreneur Aaron Matheson since 2019.
Property features include a luxury five-bedroom main residence, separate farmhouse and two micro cabins, along with an epic pool house and outdoor function spaces, set across tropical grounds.
Mr Matheson undertook extensive refurbishments, upgrading the home and transforming an existing machinery shed into a wellness sanctuary with a large yoga studio and outdoor gym.
“I wanted the space to be a combination of a private retreat, but also somewhere suited to photo shoots. That wouldn’t have been possible in the forest as it was because the hoop pine was clumped so closely together,” Mr Matheson said.
Trees were cleared to make way for a central platform Mr Matheson described as “one of the most magical spaces”, which could be used as a yoga deck or for private events.
He is selling due to interstate family commitments.
Gold Coast music producer Paul Fisher was first to use the amphitheatre, for a 2020 party celebrating the launch of his alcoholic beverage brand, Hard Fizz.
In 2022 and 2023, Burleigh Heads-based artist Masked Wolf, otherwise known as 32year-old Harry Michaels, filmed three clips at the property.
Ms Canning said the property stood out, “as one of the finest offerings in Currumbin Valley”.
Described as “versatile”, the estate could suit various uses, such as for a health retreat, short-term accommodation, or “simply your dream family home”.
Native wildlife includes wallabies, eagles and turtles, while organic gardens and lemon myrtle groves are also abundant.
Located just 20 minutes from Currumbin Beach, the estate offers “an idyllic combination of seclusion and accessibility representing the best of both worlds”, the listing states.
PropTrack data shows a typical home in Currumbin Valley costs $1.678m, up 2 per cent through 2023.
