Richard Holliday, how true is your letter re the decline of Surfers Paradise .... have you seen Southport, what a disgrace I avoid having friends from out of town view either spot. MB

I don’t think anyone really likes Trump. He’s the walking, talking dollar bill. His only real value is as a brick wall for woke lefties to beat their head against. But they should not underestimate that value. Dave

AJS the seppos were humming along while Trump was leading the economy everything . Once the dinasour took over its heading south at rate of knots . Take the rose petal glasses off smell the roses for god’s sake. Your fearless leader Albo has no idea and seeks his advice . 4221

Went to funeral house the other day unfortunately the second time in the last year. OMG cost have risen substantially. When querying why I was told “cost of living everything has gone up”. Not buying it

We are all well aware this state Labor Government has highly inflated the Public Service in a move to ensure more votes at election time so why are the TMR outsourcing what are there Public Servants doing oh silly question they are back room Public Servants Mr MF

Why o why would Govts reduce essential services like police nurses etc etc etc only to increase other bloody public “servants”. 4218

Do the right thing people. It’s time to do away with this Australia Day nonsense. It is hurtful to so many people. Time to find a new way to celebrate what this country actually means to its people. Woke Waldo

If any way you are ASHAMED to be AUSTRALIAN, leave there is somewhere in the world for you. Find it, good luck. 4cr

Now after the Yes No debarcle we have the Aust Day date crap. Patrotic Aussies need to stand up to this BS. Broadbeach Oldie. Excellent article in todays edition of the GC Bulletin by Daniel Wild “Elitist board tarnishing the reputation of Woolies”. I urge everyone to “go all out” on January 26 with your Aussie pride home decorations just like Christmas lights and be proud of being an Australian. Have a BBQ and a beer. Go Aussie! Go Aussie!

All the people who want to “change the date”. What date do you propose? Is there a date that wont involve a coalescing of grievances? Perhaps we just need a “have a moan” day and get it over and done with. Pedro

One of my proudest moments of my whole life, was when I was accepted, then honoured to be an Australian. Queenie

Albo claims boycotting Woolies would cost thousands of jobs. At the same time wants to control their prices while not expecting any job losses.

None of the shops should be selling stuff for Australia Day. All this plastic will only finish up as landfill, and neither the past nor present will get changed by buying those items.

We loved the Queen of England but she died and we just can’t accept a

King so the royals are out. Death to the monarchy. Oh wait. They’ve just crowned an Aussie girl in Denmark. Yay the monarchy we love royals. Predictabull

Re media: there’s that many serious issues needing attention and we are being bombarded with Danish “royalty”, it’s sickening, royalty is a farce “invented” by criminals, hoodwinking garbage. Not real – ppl need to denounce it as such, not feed into it.

Carol Pearce , yep I boycotted lots and now Woolies is next . The woke just keep shooting themselves in the foot

What’s the benefit of people boycotting Woollies now that Aldi has joined them not selling Aussie merchandise for Australia Day, if Coles starts price gouging if they become a monopoly. The best way is to buy there weekly specials only including Aldi for a while until they start reducing a lot more of their products due to reduced patronage. Kills 2 birds with one stone I say. The Godfather.

Our major supermarkets will soon be ordering cheap Halloween rubbish, but have no interest in Australia Day. Go figure. Martin Oxenford

Just when Looks could kill! Driving into Service Station beside pumps. And the car sinks down, and then an Italian concreter seen jumping up and down! Why? ? He just finished floating the driveway and walked to his truck ready to erect temp fencing! Sorry ! KB Tweed

At over $100 a carton it’s no wonder some brewers are going broke. Barney

Anyone aware of what happens to EV cars when the weather goes sub zero batts don’t work to well if at all in freezing temps friends in Canada sent me a vid of EVs all stopped in a blizzard no power & no chance to do anything ! PH -diesel driver

Climate change believers are like... dumb people. GW.

It’s fair to say climate activist’s think pigs can fly . Far from the sharpest tools in the shed !!!

Ruining a good thing. In theory, a market economy is an economic system where supply and demand direct the production of goods and services. Market economies are not controlled by a central authority such as a government, and are instead based on voluntary exchange. In reality, unfortunately, the power and greed of big companies have squeezed

out much of the competition and consumers are paying the price through elevated prices for goods and services.

If an Australian comes fourth in the Australian Open tennis will supporters follow the lead of Matilda’s supporters and ask for a statue of them to be erected?

Both Warners sure know how to stay in the “spotlight”. 4218

Titians have had very very expensive renovations done in all dressing rooms in the league, widened all doors to let their heads thru, Brenjon

So happy to see the Titans working out a way to use Campbell and Brimson in the backline. Des has the right idea, all of a sudden the team starts looking dangerous with some real firepower.
