Solar panels, wind turbines, and electric cars will stop all these cyclones, floods and bushfires. If you keep your eyes open you may see that flying porker up in the sky. Barney

Before you carry on about solar ask someone who has it . I have it and my bill is around 100-150 bucks. It took about two years to pay for. You little ripper. Old Reggie VL

How good, another self appointed fitness “queen” has moved to the GC. The mind boggles !!

Another shocking story about bullying. Name and shame these bullies and let the world know what kind of people they are. Amazing how brave they are when they’re in a group and remain anonymous. Billie

Just declare nicotine a dangerous drug and ban its sale completely. No cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, vapes or any other way the terrible stuff can be taken into a body. Treat it like the dangerous drug it is. The health savings could well outweigh the loss of excise.

Weirdest thing? These bludgers truly believed they were “working hard!” Go figure eh? Ooroo

Rambo, you say if Trump is elected then Democracy will be gone. Trump won the Iowa conference in a canter and the main left leaning media stations wouldn’t allow his victory speech to be aired. Does that sound like the US or China? Peter

RAMBO, give me one proof why Trump will destroy democracy? America start to become the most corrupt Country in the World. Joe, Hunter, Obama, Bush and Clinton’s are all puppets to the Elite like Media is, on the destruction of our lives & democracy! If you think Joe makes America great again, you probably think Albo is too! Gwen

The gov doesn’t want the man who grows the apple tree to sell the apple. It must pass thru many hands to generate tax and so they can then decide what percentage he is worth.

Why do ignorant people bother to go to concerts & movies and insist on long winded rowdy conversations disrupting other patrons. Stay at home if you want to act like idiots. Wake Up.

Great opinion piece from ERIN MOLAN in weekend GCB, frighteningly accurate. GW.

Calm down Barbara. Is that your full name, Barbara? (GCB 20/1). The majority of public servants I have dealt with are dedicated, hard working and honest. We are fortunate to have such public servants who do not rely on bribes and kickbacks to supplement their income. The country would grind to a halt without them. And I have been told I am intelligent more times than I have been told I’m an idiot. Not Barbara.

Ken W. Unfortunately this “breeding” has been goin on for a few generations now. Hopefully .... just hopeing we are gettin to the pointy end now and maybe look forward to something better in the future or we are doomed. Broadbeach Oldie.

We are running out of time to plan and build new stadiums we can’t afford for a 2 week event. Brisbane is the host city. It doesn’t mean everything has to happen there. They can host the opening and closing ceremonies. Events can be held interstate or where they are best suited in world class facilities we already have. The swimming don’t care if other sports are just down the road. It’s all live on tv. We have a cost of living crisis. Spend wisely like we have to. GN

Miles – if you want to build something new in Brisbane how about 5 new jails to house all those criminals that your Government is unable to control? Remove them from our streets and suburbs! Andthe obvious get rid of those hopeless, weak-as-water judges and replace with judges that understand their job and people’s expectations here!

J Harris (letters 20/1/24) it is difficult to agree with you that the new premier is ‘smart’ for setting up an independent review of the proposed Gabba stadium refurbishment. It was after all a decision the premier played a large part in making in the first place!

You wonder why there is so much youth crime when most of the adults are acting like youths themselves. Kev Helensvale

So youngsters haven’t come up with any new ideas, so have to rehash old ones, eh? Suggest they get snouts out of “social media trough,” & get their brains working !!!!!

Does anyone know where I could buy a genuine Reuben Sandwich on the coast. RC Nerang.

Totally agree with the person saying that cricket and tennis have certainly stuffed up our midday movies . Why can’t they televise it on the Abc .tugun local.

Summer is just as hot as always. The reason outdoor workers are dropping like flies is because of ridiculous PPE clown suits.

I often sign off as Jack but some days I identify as Gertrude. But my real name is Fred .... or is it. You guys that demand we leave our names ... keep it up. You’re hilarious. Elephant

As a “fitness frenzied” person from ‘80’s, can now, as an old fogie, tell kids that the secret to living a long life ain’t wearing the body out before it’s time,

by excessive exercise!! Just simply chilling, eating well & pottering in garden is the key to livin’ longer!! Amen

Geez, being a TV programmer must be SO easy! Seems all that’s needed these days is to simply push “play” button!, then constant repeats of same shows go on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on ............... etc! Hmph

Djokovic may be handy at swinging a racquet, but to me, in terms of sincerity, integrity and plain decency as a bloke, he doesn’t come within a cooee of the likes of Federer or Nadal. Ezza

Ok so Tennis Australia is just called Tennis now. And the Australian Open is just the Open. Idiots
