Karen Rowles 5/2 GCB, you obviously don’t use our trams and buses, otherwise you would know the tram provides a superior ride. The GC Hwy through Palm Beach is a perfect scenario for light rail. Palm Beach will be revitalised because people like me from the north who don’t want to catch slow buses or drive around searching for parking will take the tram and start coming to Palm Beach again. The people moving to the Gold Coast to get away from overcrowded big cities will eventually turn Gold Coast into another big overcrowded city people will want to move away from. It’s only a matter of when Gold Coast reaches that tipping point, not if.

Beachside high-rise apartments are not going to help with the housing crisis. The purchase and rental prices for beachside apartments are out of reach of average purchasers and renters and many are owned by absentee interstate investors who leave them vacant or rent them out as Airbnb type accommodation.

Rental price increase. Some of my family had to move from a rental as it was sold and subsequently moved to another property in Ormeau. With 3 children under 6, one wage at this point, and 1 year into their rental, the landlord has increased rent from $630 to $700!! How can these guys manage? Laza.

Dear QLD Labor Govt, my car and house insurance renewals just came, 40% increase. Insurers I called tell me it’s gone up due to massive increases in youth crime car and home thefts costing them, so they pass it on. Thanks QLD Labor for ignoring the crime issues for last ten years, now we are paying for your shocking lack of governance. Razr

An urgent investigation is needed to ascertain whether insurance companies are price-gouging. For example after Gold Coast City Council reviewed flood mapping, insurance companies have more than doubled premiums in areas where flooding is not predicted to occur until 2100. That’s not for 76 years!

Surely the people of division 7 would have more brains than to vote for someone that has no say. Lorrie

Albo and his Treasurer boasting of new tax cuts, yet they are raising the price of a glass of beer by 90 cents, more broken pre-election promises. Surely Labor supporters must know that every time Labor gets elected, up goes interest rates and cost of living. KenW.

Are there any Greens supporters/ voters who have any faith or respect for their leader.. Only wondering because he is the least best person to run this country. What a waste of our dollars this man is. All he does is reject the very ideas that could lead the country forward. Ditto for Chris Bowen ... Jayar Palmy.

Visiting Grandchildren to Gold Coast waters on beach! In the surf found a floating G-string, no person attached! The younger one thought it was a pair of goggles and yelled out mummy yellow goggles! Dad just cracked up laughing and was looking around the surf for the missing owner! KB Tweed

This whole G-string ban idea is insane. We live on the Gold Coast.

We embrace a beach lifestyle. And with that comes the fashion of the times. It has been that way since the bikini was invented.

Ban the bikini bottom? Get real.

If you want to ban the G-string at the beach is that any worse than the all-revealing activewear pants. Sure it is covered but they leave nothing to the imagination either.

Great call on banning the G-string, when I go to the beach I don’t need to see your cheeks out while I am trying to enjoy myself. It also does not send a great message to kids.

Banning the g-string is crazy talk. Let people wear what they want. Otherwise my mankini will have to go away in the cupboard, The Bricky

Visiting countries where women’s’ eyes are the only thing exposed might temper the view of people who object to the wearing of g-string bikinis.

The g-string is just another fashion trend that women buy into thinking that is what they need to do to make men happy. Respect yourselves and your body.

Woke weather bureau weirdos, full of climate change hubris, are repeatedly making predictions which turn out to be laughable. Seems anything to do with the ridiculous CC hysteria is suss and socially so suicidal.

What is it with all these (un)reality tv shows? I mean, wouldn’t you be embarrassed if someone found out you watched any of them?

Some of the contestants on Australian Idol are so bad they must be taking the Mickey. Maybe they

intend to post videos making fools of themselves on Tik Tok or some other forum. Pity the show doesn’t have a gong to cut their performances short.

I am not a overly religious person but I am starting to wonder what is coming. When you look at what is happening around the world fires flooding earthquakes wars people in certain countries starving, UN. WHO And other so called world helpers I think are trying to control the world population. Nan.

What a beautiful article written in Sat. Bulletin, “power of positivity” MND, my heart goes out to Leanne as I am sure other readers will also, especially her lovely husband. Very special. P Robina

Greens Brisbane Lord Mayoral candidate Jonathon Sri has panicked the opposition with his fresh

approach to de-congesting the city’s streets. Free public transport has always been the obvious answer to road congestion and will be paid for in spades with the money saved on maintenance and building new roads.

I think only 1 of the top 10 Ironman is from QLD. the rest have moved here as adults. The QLD clubs have pokies and licensed venues the rest of the country doesn’t so they can afford to pay more for coaching and athlete etc. Gold Coast clubs have a relatively poor record of developing talent.

Good on Ali Day, what a champion. Good bloke too.

Wayne Bennett for the kiwis. The old bloke is never short of a job is he.

Hey Bulletin, any word on Des and how he is going at Titans? Need to know more about the dojo.
