I would like to put myself forward as the council’s first Butt Inspector to see just who is allowed to wear a Gstring on our beaches. I feel a bit cheeky putting myself forward, but someone has to do it. Old Bowler

As usual, point well got in Monday’s cartoon, onya Mann! Reckon tho illustration doesn’t quite truly depict FAR more grotesque images, seen every day, by everybody who’s ever gone to a beach in the last forty+ years! So why all the bloody hoo-ha about bare butts now??? Not my cuppa tea, but to each their own, eh? Ooroo

As most Parents and Grandparents know, the easiest and fastest way for a ‘trend’ to be ‘uncool’ is for us oldies to jump onto it. Just purchased my first ‘G-String Bikini’, you want to see skin? I’ll show you some skin! Queenie

US gold coasters don’t like the look of bikini bottoms. TWO JELLYFISH IN A SUGAR BAG. Doesn’t look good

Work in Surfers Paradise, see gstrings and bums most days, after a while you just become numb to it. Let’s not get so wound up.

Come on, it’s women’s bodies. If they want to wear a thong out in public then who cares. It is a bum, grow up

We need to be mindful of the views of women in this G-string debate, they are the ones who wear them the most. Old men raining on their parade is not the answer. Woke Waldo

With all this talk about g-strings surely the Thong Song will make a return to the charts. That thong, thong, thong, thong .

Mankinis will never go out of fashion, such a wonderful gift to the world.

I say ban the budgie smuggler, in general.Old blokes letting it all hang out in a pair of DTs is way more offensive than any butt cheeks hanging out of a g-string.

Banning bikinis is gold for Gold Coast. Craig Florida Gardens.

Please leave the lycra shorts and the g bangers alone, for some of us it’s the only pleasure we have left in life. B boomer.

10 million animals killed on our roads, wow who came up with that figure cause I’m calling BS

Sad but true & huge embuggerance indeed, GN, that while we pay rates & all maintenance costs to keep our own verges/nature strips & laneways looking neat, it’s still deemed as “Council” land, so “their permission” is required, & have ultimate say in what we do. Wonder what Council would do if we all just gave ‘em the finger & said “your bloody property, YOU bloody maintain it!!! (Sure would save me a few thousand $)

If these “flexicar” cars are the new option for the green bikes then we have a serious problem. How can you run a private business and be allowed to park them on public land/ streets. Imagine if all rental cars were allowed to park on the street waiting to be hired? Dumb idea. GN
