“That would be really cool because that would mean I get to come home.

“It’s so beautiful and there are so many amazing places to film. So why shouldn’t it be?”

The Gold Coast Mayor, who joined forces with AACTA president and Gladiator star Russell Crowe to help bring the awards to the city for three years, said it was great to have homegrown stars Margot Robbie and Aisha Dee back on the Gold Coast for it.

“The biggest asset the Gold Coast has is we are beautiful and good looking - and at the same time we don’t go up to celebritie­s and harass them.

We want them to have a good time and stay here.”

The Australian actress, known for her role in Warm Bodies and nominated for best lead actress in mini series The Clearing, was happy to make it to the AACTAs for her fourth nomination.

She said the “future of film is incredible” and backed the Gold Coast becoming “Goldywood”.

“More people are excited about coming to this part of the world.”

The sister of Deniska Kollosche (wife to Gold Coast real estate mogul Michael Kollosche) gave a shout out to her sister “who helped me today or I don’t think I’d be here in one piece”.

The Real House-wives of Sydney star hoped more shows came to the Gold Coast: “Gold Coast is like Miami, full of fun.
