Romance on the menu for V-Day

- Mohammad Alfares

Love is on the menu at Gold Coast venues this coming Valentine’s Day as operators’ hearts swell at the prospect of what is typically one of their busiest occasions.

Many venues are reporting sellouts or limited remaining availability.

New Broadbeach venue Blowfish Ocean Grill and Bar promises an “extraordinary seafood experience like no other”.

The central Broadbeach restaurant of Steve and Autumn Adams - who also have nearby Moo Moo which is booked out - wants couples to embark on a culinary journey celebrating romance and the finest seafood.

Mr Adams said Valentine’s Day was one of the busiest in the calendar year for hospitality.

“We’ve got a great Valentine’s Day menu at each venue, so I’m looking forward to people coming in and enjoying it. Hopefully we get some new people that haven’t visited (Blowfish) yet to come in and experience our (VIP) Ripple Room.”

If you’re looking for something special, the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Surfers Paradise promises an “unparalleled” five-star luxury experience for couples.

The resort boasts a saltwater lagoon teeming with over 200 tropical fish. Couples can indulge in the culinary delights of the resort’s signature restaurant, Citrique, awarded an Australian Chef Hat for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024.

For those looking to dine in style, one of the newest additions to Broadbeach Kost Bar and Grill - have a selection of “fire-kissed” food to tantalise your tastebuds.

Kost owner Dave Galvin said he was excited for his first Valentine’s Day event since opening in August last year.

“For lunch and dinner we have our a la carte menu but also a range of Valentine’s Day offers including Champagne and caviar for two, oysters, bluefin tuna and a delicious raspberry and rose dessert,” Mr Gavin said.

“It will be great to showcase Kost and the Gold Coast to a national audience on Valentine’s Day.”

But romance does not have to break the bank. For under $150, the Oasis precinct is hosting a raft of Valentine’s Day events. They include infrared saunas and floats, a $120 per head dinner at Broadbeach hospitality king Pat Gennari’s popular Roosevelt Lounge and a $110 per head option at Sofia’s.
