Sir Ming can confirm Championships credentials

Trainer Danielle Seib has only had one starter in a Country Championships Qualifier but hopes to have a second in a couple of weeks with the progressive Sir Ming.

The gelding became a possible contender with a big win at his first run at Goulburn two weeks ago and can book his place in the Moruya Qualifier with another win on his home

TODAY track in the Benchmark 66 Handicap (1300m).

Sir Ming has always shown Seib he has the talent but he delivered it in spades last start when he went into the Class 4 Handicap as a Class 1 horse and blew his rivals away with a win by more than 3½ lengths.

“I was really happy to see him put in that performance. I always knew he was capable of it,” Seib said.

“Once he controlled the race, it was never in doubt and he put them away easily.

Seib said the son of Shalaa was a more mature horse this preparation and another win this week could book his place in the Qualifier.

“If he wins this week, I will look towards the Country Championships Qualifier at Moruya with him,” she said.

“He has got the ability and it is certainly a race I think he could figure in.”

The daughter of Nostradamus won at her stable debut over this track and distance last July and again two runs later over 1200m on August 7 before a fourth to Melody Again in a Highway at Rosehill 19 days later.

“She is a horse with a lot of ability. She came a long way last preparation in her race manners,” Seib said.
