In my day, GC police visibility prevented crime, these days police cars are not seen, thus crime out of control. In the Tweed police cars are everywhere, and very little crime. KenW.

The government needs to listen to what rank and file members are saying needs to be done to address problems within the police force. They are at the front line while upper management may be wary of telling government things they don’t want to hear for fear of putting their jobs or promotion at risk.

I was a victim of crime, a break & enter . I’m still waiting to hear about DNA results from 13 months ago . Here’s what I’ve learnt. I phoned 000 & you are told to go on the Police App. It is so impersonal – trying to update on the App what was stolen. It’s not until you’re a victim of crime that you realise how alone you are. Learn how to defend yourself because the Police can’t help, they are under staffed & over governed. Julie

I think what the Community Alliance is saying is how important liveability is for any community, including the Gold Coast. Poor planning, reacting to the influx of people by encouraging the construction of expensive apartment tower blocks on the coastal strip, is definitely not fostering liveability.

Live music thrived in pubs and clubs where future greats served their apprenticeships in a time before the advent of online sites to promote music. So many people just getting by trying to feed their kids. I object to schools and school teachers calling out parents for what they feed their kids. If the parents only have bread and sprinkles at least they are getting fed. Why are we continually being controlled by big brother?
