Just admit it was a stupid decision for council to leave COMSEQ. A decision followed by missing out on lots of valuable funding for Gold Coast infrastructure projects. Admit it and re-join.

Agree re truck drivers on M1 but it’s not just truck drivers. I travel on the M1 regularly & hardly a trip goes by without having someone ‘bullying’ as I call it or trying to intimidate me from behind because they want me to go faster. I’m on the speed limit or just over. It’s like it’s their right to go faster if they want & everyone should get out of their way.

The oft repeated phrase “enviable lifestyle” to describe living on the Gold Coast and given as a reason for people moving here, might need to be reconsidered. The unsustainable migration of people from interstate has contributed to a housing shortfall, crowded roads, worse parking problems, and over-stretched health and education system. All problems big city dwellers thought they were escaping.

Developers lodging development applications for apartment tower blocks, should be required to lodge a large security bond to be forfeited if the development fails to proceed within a specified time. This requirement would stop a lot of applications that are being made for the purpose of increasing property values. Reducing applications would drastically reduce the workload of council planners and facilitate much faster processing of genuine applications.

Don’t businesses and Government departments realise how frustrated people get having to wait interminably for someone to answer their telephone enquiries? If they are going to use this cost-saving, to hell with customer service, method of doing business, at least put on a whole lot more telephone staff.

Many years ago my wife thought I looked hot in overalls open to the waist, no shirt and wearing a tool belt. The other night I came out of the shower with just the tool belt. (pardon the pun). Fantasy dashed, blue pill wasted, back to the drawing board. BS

The problem with F1 is it’s the team with the best car that wins. The drivers are all good but each season it seems one superior car dominates. The only way to ascertain who the best driver is would be to let them all drive the same vehicles. That’s if the teams stopped telling their drivers to let another team driver overtake them.

Des Hasler has had his successes and failures as a coach and he and the Titans will have their successes and failures in 2024. There will be spectacular victories and heartbreaking losses. Fans need to stay loyal and optimistic. After all, as wise men said, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step and the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.

The Vegas experiment was a winner for the NRL, great games and a good opportunity to get a foothold in the States. Well done to all involved.

Sign me up for a Vegas trip next year, well done to the NRL for such a great concept.
