Kylie splendour set for festival
Kylie Minogue will play an exclusive show in NSW after she was announced as a headliner for popular festival Splendour in the Grass.
The pop princess will play an at the Byron Bay festival after winning the best pop dance recording Grammy for her hit Padam Padam.
Under the terms of her appearance, the songstress can only play at the festival, and not at any secret or side shows – meaning super-fans will have to race for Splendour tickets for a chance to see her live.
Minogue was also awarded the global icon Brit award this year, recognised as a “master of musical reinvention” for her 36 years – “and counting” – of music.
“There’s a part of me that’s still the 14-year-old girl dreaming in her room of making music and being in this industry,” she said as she accepted the award.
The announcement comes after the line-up was leaked on social media on Tuesday night, with the release initially set for Wednesday morning.
The popular music festival has brought in other exclusive acts, including rapper Future and Turnstile.
Festival-goers can also look forward to Canadian indie rockers Arcade Fire, with Girl In Red returning to Australia following her set at Laneway festival last year.
The three-day festival has also assembled a strong line-up of Australian artists, with G-Flip set to rock out on the first night.
Tash Sultana, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers and Thelma Plum are other Aussie favourites selected for the popular festival.
Tones and I is also set to take to the stage following her performances opening for Pink’s Summer Carnival over February and March.
There are plenty of chances to get your hands on tickets, with the first pre-sale beginning March 14.
Locals can snag tickets at the Byron Bay Community Centre and online on March 17 between 10am and 4pm.
Those who snapped up tickets last year will be offered an exclusive presale on March 18 from 9am, while the Optus presale will run March 19 from 9am.
There will also be a TikTok presale on March 20, while the general sale kicks off at 9am on March 21.
Tickets will range between $159 and $599.
