With the GCCC elections over it is high time that an independen­t efficiency audit is carried out covering council operations. The long suffering Ratepayers must be given full financial informatio­n and details regarding staffing functions and numbers to answer the question is our money being well spent. Gordy

A race to the bottom. Ann Wason Moore’s opinion piece on the unacceptab­le behaviour exhibited by some candidates’ supporters during the council election campaign is timely. The sort of disgusting tactics described are the reason why so many people who would make exceptiona­l politician­s say they would never enter politics.

The Olympics is big money for some, they’re the ones that will carry on, jump up and down to get the billion dollar stadium through. But hard times will only become worse pumping huge money into a white elephant. 2.7 billion for Olympic Stadiums. Not sure if I’ve done the sums right but with Queensland­s population at about 5.5 million that’s around 490 thousand each. Scrap the Olympics and everyone could own a house!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the article about a Police Dog biting a criminal (Bulletin 19 March). Seems to be the only Justice crims see these days. Qld Police Dog Squad keep up the good work. Next time go for the criminals Crown Jewels and not an elbow please.
