Why the hell is fiffita not standing out, why is he not getting back powering the ball forward. He stands there u do it, I only run at 7 n 6s or stand out near the wing. he should be made to payback 1mill because he will not payback on field. No wonder big Tino blew he’s ACT out, carrying that team. He should be signed for life.

Good cheap safety aid for nearly everyone, especially walkers, is a simple whistle, it’s piercing sound can travel further than anything, and makes it easier for rescuers to find a lost person, a lot of $2 shops carry them, from a long time walker.

There must be a sign at the USA Mexico border saying turn left and head to Australia where old mate Albo will welcome you with Vegemite sandwiches a slice of cake and a cuppa plus space in the Outback.. Doug

Great hearing the national anthems of France, United States & New Zealand at the men’s and women’s finals of the Hong Kong 7’s. Better still watching NZ lift the gold medal in BOTH events. I’m sure you’ll agree, eh Noel. Tui.

Kiwis go Black to Black in Hong Kong 7s which points to an interesting Series outcome in a few months time.. well done to both teams.. Doug

A don’t miss Australian event..” mafs “as John McEnroe once said .... ”””you can’t be serioussssss”.. utter crap...bistro bob...

Surfers Paradise has been a low light of the Gold Coast for way too long. Ask locals if they go there? No not unless they have to. The tram divided it in half and made it look and sound like a shunting yard. You can’t have a supposedly family friendly environment in daytime and a seedy nightclub precinct at night. When will that be recognised? People live and holiday there now. Would you? Night clubs should be moved to a new precinct with transport, a police beat and not where people live. Like the old Masters building on Bundall Road. The race course will have night races soon. GN

Funniest thing I saw on the weekend was a Labor minister demanding Transparency and Accountability from Israel and Details from Dutton. He doesn’t even know what those words mean. Goman

On behalf of all Gold Coasters I would like to apologise to our international tourists for the state of Surfers Paradise, sadly it has become a complete and utter disgrace and local council just keeps living in denial. Woodleigh

Interesting that the council inspectors were out and about at Easter and handed out 2,000 parking tickets. They obviously didn’t see all the people who live in cars caravans and tarps north of the Sheraton Mirage. Anyone who bikes or walks the Spit could point them out. Some haven’t moved in months even years. Half sunken house boats on the foreshore crapping in Bums Bay daily is ok as well apparently? GN

Cashless society. Be fun at the races laying a bet with the Bookies and collecting your winnings. Barney

I saw a council “Parksafe” car patrolling Carrara on Sunday, then passed a speed camera on Ross St. They tell us cameras are set up in accident hotspots, but I can’t recall seeing an accident in that area ever!

The mantra “interest rates are high” as a reason for everything from builders insolvency, mortgage stress and housing unaffordability is misleading. Interest rates are not high. They have returned to more normal levels from the artificially low rates that were used to stimulate the economy during and after the pandemic. The low rates didn’t just stimulate the economy, they got people conditioned to thinking they were the new norm, over-committing themselves and driving up home prices.

It’s the odds. When NRL short kickoffs and dropouts come off it’s great. But you have to question whether the 27.8% retention success rate justifies employing these tactics unless it is in a last minute, desperate, attempt to achieve a come-from-behind win. A short drop out that ends up with the opposition team with the ball 10-15 metres out from scoring is better than a 70:30 chance. Ditto with a short kick-off leaving the opposition 35 - 40 metres closer to scoring.

Re: “Nightspotting” Monday Bully. Girls , whats with the ugly pouty lips & closed eye pics when a camera’s in yer face ? Very average !

Congratulations to Skye Nicolson for her world title win in Vegas. So good to see women in sport getting the recognition they deserve. GN

Builders are calling for regulation and red tape to be reduced at a time when record numbers of building companies are going into liquidation leaving suppliers and sub-contractors millions of dollars out of pocket while retaining their own personal assets. Additionally buyers of apartments in Sydney with structural defects have struggled to have the faults rectified

and are out of pocket. More regulation, not less, is needed to protect suppliers, subcontractors and purchasers.

Insolvencies, and thousands of businesses closing down every dayunder this hopeless, Leftie, Socialist Labor- hell bent on introducing more obstacles- red tape, green tape, more taxes, costs of living, new Industrial Reforms - run by thousands of unelected bureaucrats - pushing this Country- towards a big economical cliff !

No respect for judges anymore for

allowing youth crime to continue. Giving bail all the time sends them the wrong message.

I just don’t understand how seemingly intelligent people like Bob Janssen fail to understand that 2020 lockdowns were all about doing our best to make sure our ICU capacity could cope. We have about 30 ICU public beds on the Coast to handle serious crash victims, heart patients etc etc. Now that we have reached a level of Covid endemicity its easy to say lockdowns were an over reaction but the professional projected impact on our hospitals and ICU capacity in
