Kids breaking into people’s homes, stealing cars, drug dealers and muggers everywhere, and our Premier appears in an article about a bloody magpie. Says it all really. Daz, Tallai

A report evaluating extending light rail from Burleigh suggests the southern Gold Coast faces economic ruin without “intervention”. Economic ruin for whom? Developers who can’t build apartment tower blocks? Tourists operators because tourists won’t come to the Gold Coast because they can’t ride in a tram? A report commissioned by a government already intent on constructing the extension was always more likely to find reasons why it should proceed rather than why it shouldn’t. the hardly going to Liveability and concerns of residents would not have been major considerations in the report.

Our village idiot -Albanese- is talking about bringing manufacturing back to Australia ! This useless Laborcouldn’t stop thousands of businesses and manufacturers closing downunder their watch in the past 2 years what a silly, delusional man !

This is for Mr. Tom Tate - the rate payers and mortgage payers of the Gold Coast can not afford to pay for all your pet projects it is now time to stop light rail no further than Burleigh. Families are only just surviving some are not.this is not the time to spend up large. Cut the cloth to suit the pocket. Oldie.

Never mind burning coal to keep us warm and fed, is anyone gonna mention the giant holes we dig all over the earth and fill with our trash and waste. The navy dump theirs in the Ocean. Out of mind, out of sight. And no one even talks about it.

Fast forwarding building stage 4 of the light rail is not going to reduce the cost estimate enough to make a real difference. And if cost blowouts for other major infrastructure projects from Snowy 2 to Cross River Rail are anything to go by, any cost estimates will be way below the actual cost.

In reply to getting rid of cash at the races , they will probably get rid of the bookies or do what they are going to do at casino put your betting money on a card. The powers that be want to know everything.

Re Tim Blair’s opinion piece on atomic fear. Being unafraid of nuclear power stations is not going to make them any cheaper or timely to build.

It’s not going to get private developers to put their hands in their own pockets and it’s not going to help proponents come up with a safe way to store nuclear waste with a half life of thousands of years.

Really war in Ukraine war on the Gaza strip third world war better know as social media destroying our once peaceful way of life and the media goes crazy over bird and a dog no wonder we are in strife. Mr MF.

Molly the Magpie would be dead now if the caring couple hadn’t rescued her after she fell from a nest and was abandoned. And if she had been taken to an animal shelter then she would

have been a lonely orphan instead of having a loving, caring, relationship with the carers and Peggy the Staffy. The only thing she has got out of being with a government agency is separation trauma. Give her back for goodness sakes.

“Wildlife must stay wild”. Tell that to the untold millions of people around the world who legally have pets of all descriptions.

I watched the Masters for a while this morning and I have a suggestion to put to the management committee of this wonderful golf course. Kindly add to the already extensive list of no no’s, any buffoon who yells out ‘ get in the hole‘ should be immediately removed from the course and banned for life. Peter BW

Re Peggy/Molly story. See what trouble folk cause themselves when they boast & blurt to the whole bloody World, the beautiful thing happening PRIVATELY in their own backyard, eh? Amen

Just give the damn Magpie back you Moron’s at DESI !!!

I’ll bet Gold Coast to a brick the winners of the $50 million Oz Lotto jackpot are not saying we don’t buy lottery tickets because the odds of winning are millions to one. The odds are even greater if you don’t have a ticket. And that, and the cost of living crisis, is why so many people buy lottery tickets.

Albo’s Australian Made Plan! Yes it’s unbelievable, but once the Unions get involved with wages, holiday pay, 3-4 day working week, super, overtime, sick pay, maternity leave, smoko’s, lunch breaks, penalty rates, choice work hours, family leave, zero contact outside work, fringe benefits allowance, and then be cheaper than China! Yep it may work! KB Tweed

An article in the GCB talks about the significant costs involved in a rapid bus transit option to the airport but honestly that pales into insignificant in comparison to the costs that would be incurred for a tram on rails with steel wires and poles to run it. Other options avail such as rubber tyred trams. Those options need to be considered first. KJ.

Good game win by Waratahs over Crusaders spoilt only by referee who made ridiculous decisions aided by incompetent bunker for both. Doug

Light rail to/from Cooly airport makes absolute total bloody sense! Amen

(Palm Beach residents bellyaching about light rail? Come off it! Best place ever to do “rat-runs” to avoid traffic snarls!)
