Fashion forward event driving into second year
Gold Coast style will kick into high gear with the Fuelled by Fashion gala back for a second year.
The May 18 event involves Porsche Centre Gold Coast and local fashion label Homebodii partnering in a runway and luncheon experience at The Langham Gold Coast.
Porsche Gold Coast marketing manager Juliet Bell said the event served as a platform to showcase talented Gold Coast designers to fashion and automotive communities.
“There’s not really many fashion events here on the Gold Coast so we’re very excited to not only bring a fashion event here, but have Gold Coast businesses represented,” she said.
The event runs in line with Porsche Australia’s sponsorship of Australian Fashion Week.
Porsche Gold Coast general manager of sales Nick Price said the Glitter Strip event was a great way to “piggy back” off the AFW, while supporting some homegrown talent.
“Last year was a really big success and going into our second year of this event we’re really excited to have Homebodii on board,” he said.
The day will feature a runway show presented by Homebodii featuring their latest collection, designed in conjunction with former Bachelor winner turned social media influencer Snezana Wood.
Mrs Wood said the project had been a year in the making.
“This is the first time (with a label) I’ve been really hands on in every aspect,” she said.
“From the design, the manufacturing, the whole process – it’s incredible to see this all come to life and the fact we’re launching on a platform like this is a dream come true.”
The runway show will be followed by industry expert panellists and a two course lunch.
