Is this the Gold Coast’s best private rooftop pool?

Buyers will have to splash the cash if they want this Broadbeach penthouse with its own private rooftop pool, on the market for the first time in 20 years.

The 897sq m apartment at 177 Old Burleigh Rd is on level 30 and is being marketed by Ray White Burleigh Group agents Elly Malan and Rachael Crompton.

“It’s absolutely gorgeous up there,” Ms Malan said.

“It’s just so calm and peaceful, particular­ly at sunset, and looking down on the waves rolling in, it’s almost like they’re in slow motion. It’s a one-of-a-kind location – I’m calling it, it’s the Coast’s best private rooftop pool.”

Last year, a buyer dropped $12m on a 650sq m apartment in the 272 Hedges building in neighbouri­ng Mermaid Beach.

“Sky-homes rarely come on the market on the Coast, particular­ly in beachfront towers, making this (Carmel by the Sea) an exceptiona­l opportunit­y,” Ms Malan said.

“The building itself sits on 8000sq m of land, with an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis court, gymnasium, and steam room.”

“The prestige market remains buoyant, and there are still a lot of cash buyers out there. We don’t anticipate the market changing with so much demand and not much supply.”

PropTrack data shows units have jumped 5.2 per cent in Broadbeach over the past 12 months with the median price now at $832,000.

The Carmel by the Sea penthouse goes to auction on May 8.
