Cast off 5 ( 5: 5: 6: 6) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 47 ( 47: 47: 51: 51) sts. Dec 1 st at each end of next 3 rows and 2 foll alt rows. 37 ( 37: 37: 41: 41) sts. Work 3 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of next row and 2 foll 4th rows. 31 ( 31: 31: 35: 35) sts. Work 1 row. Dec 1 st at each end of next row and foll alt row. 27 ( 27: 27: 31: 31) sts. Work 1 row. Dec 1 st at each end of next 2 rows, ending with RS facing for next row. 23 ( 23: 23: 27: 27) sts. Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows. 11 ( 11: 11: 15: 15) sts. Cast off rem sts. Sew in ends. Block gently, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band. Join both shoulder seams.

NECK EDGING

With RS facing and starting at left shoulder, using 4.5mm circular needles pick up and knit 17 sts down left front neck, 17 sts across centre front neck and 17 sts up right front neck to right shoulder, pick up and knit 27 sts across back neck. 78 sts. Note: work in rounds.** Rib round 1: (K3, P3) 13 times. This round forms the rib. Work a further 29 rounds in rib. Cast off in rib, taking care not to pull sts too tightly. *** Join sleeve and side seams. Place centre of cast-off edge of sleeves to shoulder seams. Set in sleeves, easing sleevehead­s into armholes.
