LONG SLEEVED AND lacy, this feminine jumper will be ideal for the transition from winter to spring. It features an attractive openwork pattern, a round neck and a gorgeously soft and fluffy fabric, thanks to the kid mohair-blend yarn from Bergère de France. The aran-weight Pure Douceur comes in a range of neutral shades as well as scarlet, amethyst, avocado and pastel pink.

BACK

Using 4mm needles, cast on 87 ( 95: 101: 111: 123) sts. Work in 1x1 rib for 5cm. Change to 4.5mm needles. Row 1 (RS): K0 ( 0:3: 0: 0), beg on st 13 ( 9:9: 1: 13) work Chart to last 0 ( 0:3:0: 0) sts, working to the end of the 18-st rep, and then repeating these sts across the row, ending on st 27 ( 31: 31: 39: 27) of Chart, K0 ( 0:3: 0: 0). Row 2 (WS): P0 ( 0:3:0: 0) work Chart to last 0(0: 3:0: 0) sts, P0 ( 0:3: 0: 0). Last 2 rows set Chart placement. Cont to work Chart as set until piece meas 37 ( 38: 38: 39: 40) cm. ARMHOLES Place a stitch marker in the first and last st to locate beg of armholes and cont in Lace patt until piece meas 54 ( 56: 58: 60: 62) cm. SHOULDERS AND NECK Cast off 6 ( 7:7: 8: 9) sts at beg of next row, work until there are 24 ( 26:28: 31: 35) sts on the right-hand needle, cast off the centre 27 ( 29: 31: 33: 35) sts, patt ndto end. Next row: Cast off 6 ( 7:7:8: 9) sts, work to cast off sts. 24 ( 26: 28: 31: 35) sts. Each side will now be completed separately. Cast off 6 ( 7:7: 8: 9) sts at armhole edge of next 2 ( 3:1:1: 0) alt rows, then 7 ( 0: 8:9: 10) sts at beg of next 1 ( 0:2: 2:3) alt rows, AT THE SAME TIME casting off 3 sts at neck edge of the 2nd row, then 2 sts at the neck edge of the foll 2nd row.

FRONT

Work as for Back to Armholes. ARMHOLES Place stitch markers as for Back and work until piece meas 49 ( 51: 53: 55: 57) cm. Next row: Patt 34 ( 37: 39: 43: 48), cast off the 19 ( 21: 23: 25: 27) centre sts, patt to end. 34 ( 37: 39: 43: 48) sts rem for each side. Cont each side separately, cast off 3 sts at the neck edge of the 2nd row, 2 sts at the neck edge of the foll alt row, then 1 st at the neck edge of the 4 foll alt rows. Cont in Lace patt until piece meas 54 ( 56: 58: 60: 62) cm. SHOULDERS Cast off 6 ( 7:7: 8: 9) sts at armhole edge of next 3 ( 4:2:2: 1) alt rows, then 7 ( 0:8: 9: 10) sts at beg of next 1 ( 0:2:2: 3) alt rows. Repeat for second side.

SLEEVES

Using 4mm needles, cast on 43 ( 45: 47: 49: 51) sts. Work in 1x1 rib for 5cm. Change to 4.5mm needles. Note: Until there are enough stitches, only work the first and last incs/decs of the row if they are balanced with a correspond­ing dec/inc. Beg on st 12 ( 11: 21: 15: 9) and ending on st 36 ( 37: 31: 27: 23), work in Lace patt until piece meas 9cm.

Inc 1 st each end of the 12 ( 9: 13: 10: 7) foll 10th ( 10th: 8th: 8th: 8th) rows, then the 0 ( 4:3: 7: 11) foll 0 ( 8th: 6th: 6th: 6th:6th) rows, taking new sts into pattern. 67 ( 71: 79: 83: 87) sts. Cont without shaping until piece meas 54cm. Cast off .

COLLAR

Using 4mm needles, cast on 107 ( 111: 115: 119: 123) sts. Work in 1x1 rib for 8 rows and leave all sts on hold.

FINISHING

Join shoulder seams. Graft collar to neck edge and join shorter edges. Sew top of sleeves to edges of armholes at each end of shoulder seam in between stitch markers. Sew sleeve seams and sides of sweater. Secure and weave in ends and gently block to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.
