Using 4.5mm needles, cast on 110 ( 118: 124: 140: 150) sts. Work 2 rows in garter stitch.

Next row (WS): P13 ( 17: 20: 11: 16), work 84 ( 84: 84: 118: 118) sts in Patt St following Chart for your size, P13 ( 17: 20: 11: 16). Last 2 rows set pattern. Cont in patt as set until work meas 36 ( 37: 37: 38: 39) cm.

ARMHOLES

Slip a stitch marker into the beg and end of next row to mark the beg of armholes and cont in patt as set until work meas 52 ( 54: 56: 58: 60) cm.

SHOULDERS AND NECK

Note: When shaping, each yarnover must be compensate­d by a decrease. Next row (RS): Cast off 10 ( 11: 12: 14: 15) sts, work until there are 23 ( 25: 26: 31: 34) sts on the RH needle, cast off 44 ( 46: 48: 50: 52) sts for the neck, work to end. Next row (WS): Cast off 10 ( 11: 12: 14: 15) sts, work to cast off sts, put rem sts on a stitch holder. Work will now be completed in two sections.

* Next row (neck edge): Cast off 2 sts, work to end. Cast off 10 ( 11: 12: 14: 16) sts at the beg of next 1 ( 1:2: 1: 2) times alt rows, then 11 ( 12: 0: 15: 0) sts at the beg of next 1 ( 1:0: 1: 0) alt rows. *

With WS facing pick up sts left on stitch holder and rep from * to *.

FRONT

Work as for Back, marking armholes at the same place, cont until work meas 45 ( 47: 49: 51: 53) cm.

NECK

Next row (RS): Work 41 ( 44: 46: 53: 57) sts, cast off the central 28 ( 30: 32: 34: 36) sts, work to end. Next row (WS): Work to cast-off sts and put rem sts on a stitch holder. Work will now be completed in 2 sections.

* Cast off 3 sts at the beg of the next alt row, 2 sts at the beg of the foll alt row, then 1 st at the beg of the next 5 alt rows. Cont on the rem 31 ( 34: 36: 43: 47) sts until work meas 52 ( 54: 56: 58: 60) cm.

SHOULDER

Cast off 10 ( 11: 12: 14: 15) sts at the shoulder edge of the next 2 ( 2:3: 2: 1) alt rows, then 11 ( 12: 0: 15: 16) sts at the beg of the foll 1 ( 1:0: 1: 2) alt rows. *

With WS facing pick up sts left on stitch holder and rep from * to *.

SLEEVES

Using 4.5mm needles, cast on 54 ( 56: 58: 60: 62) sts. Work in garter stitch for 2 rows.

Next row (RS): K2 ( 3:4: 5: 6), work 50 sts in Patt St following Chart for your size, K2 ( 3:4: 5: 6).

Next row (WS): P2 ( 3:4: 5: 6), work 50 sts in Patt St following Chart for your size, P2 ( 3:4: 5: 6). Last 2 rows set pattern. Cont in patt as set until work meas 5cm. Inc row (RS): K1, inc 1, work to last st, inc 1, K1. 2 sts inc’d. Rep Inc row on every foll 14th ( 12th: 10th: 10th: 10th) row 5 ( 8:8: 5: 1) times, then on every foll 12th ( 0: 8th: 8th: 8th) row 2(0: 2: 6: 11) times. 70 ( 74: 80: 84: 88) sts.

TOP OF SLEEVE

Cont without shaping until work meas

50cm. Cast off.

NECKBAND

Using 4.5mm needles, cast on 132 ( 136: 140: 144: 148) sts. Work in st st for 20cm, then leave on a holder.

FINISHING

Join shoulder seams. Using back stitch, graft neckband around neck edge. Join the edges of the neckband, joining the top 10cm on the RS to allow for turning down.

Sew sleeves into armholes each side of the shoulder seam and between the stitch markers. Sew sleeve and side seams.

Weave in ends and gently block to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.
