Shimmer

-

“MY SHIMMER design uses a series of mirrored cables to create a cardigan with subtle diagonal lines,” says Emma Vining. “Wide rib pleats feature on the lower part of the garment. The cables are worked on the upper sections to create the shimmer. A reverse stocking stitch ridge creates horizontal lines to emphasise the cables.

“The cable shimmers are made by moving two stitches from each wide rib column edge over the central ‘P2’ of the rib to the next column. This reordering of the stitches links the columns and creates the shimmer. Two cable needles are used for the stitch movement.”
