CHART NOTES

Slip stitch mosaic colourwork utilises a method of slipping stitches ( just moving the stitch purlwise from the left to right needle without working it) to bring the colour used in the previous row to the top. You always work two rows in each colour. The charts show the first of these two rows. The second row, although it is worked in purl, is the same as the first row in reverse.

The yarn is taken across the wrong side of the work when stitches are slipped, and all slipped stitches are slipped purlwise with the yarn held on the WS. The black blocks on the chart denote where the colourful stitches will be on the finished work.

TARTAN PATTERN
