Using 3.5mm needles, cast on

Cont in rib as set until hem measures 3cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row. Begin working in pattern, ensuring you follow the correct charts or written stitch patterns for your size, as foll:

Row 1 (RS): P5 (11:17:25:19:25:30:36),

(work Patt A, work Patt B) 3 times, work Patt A, P5 (11:17:25:19:25:30:36).

Row 2: K5 (11:17:25:19:25:30:36), (work Patt A, work Patt B) 3 times, work Patt A, K5 (11:17:25:19:25:30:36).

Continue in pattern as set, working rows 3 to 8 (8:8:8:12:12:12:12) and then repeating rows 1 to 8 (8:8:8:12:12:12:12) throughout, until Back measures 43 (43:43½:43½:43½: 43½:43½ :43) cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row.

Make a note of which row of the pattern you ended on, so that you can match it when working the Front.

SHAPE ARMHOLES

NOTE: Keep patt correct throughout all shaping. At the end of all shaping you should have 5 (6:8:10:1:4:5:6) sts at each end before and after your side cables.

Cast off 4 (5:6:7:9:10:12:13) sts at beg of next 2 rows.

Turn and cont on last 29 (30:32:33:34:37:37: 37) sts only for Left Back Neck and Shoulder.

Next row: Work straight.

Next row: Cast off 3 sts at neck edge, patt to end.

When armhole shaping is complete, continue straight until Front measures 55 (56:57:58:59:60:61:62) cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row.

This should be approx 13 (5:3:3:1:3:5:3) rows.

SHAPE FRONT NECK

NOTE: When shaping Front Neck, if you can’t work a full cable, work in reverse stocking stitch and stocking stitch as the sts present themselves. If when casting off across the front neck cable you find the
