ONE way of trying to save money when you are spending on the big ticket items in life – especially the family home – is to nd little bits that aren’t quite right. Then start haggling with the gent and/or vendor about knocking little bits o the asking price because you will allegedly have to spend to x it yourself. So few things could be more frustrating than stepping into a home, whipping out your magnifying glass, and not nding a single thing about which you could complain. Big hint here: 23 McLachlan Rd was built by a builder for his family. So that explains all the little extra touches, the perfect nishes and the incredibly functional oorplan combine to make this thoroughly modern home about as easy a transition as you could dream of. Because the only thing you will have to do once the ink dries on the contract of sale will be to move in, unpack and put your feet up. Followed by some sighs of contentment. The builder responsible has already done all the thinking, all the hard work and then given the lot a nal polish for good measure. We are talking four bedrooms (of which the master suite is something special), two bathrooms, two toilets, built-in robes, oodles of storage, double garage, ducted year-round climate control no matter where you are in the home and a fantastic complex in the domestic engine room of kitchen and living areas. The toughest question, rst up, is where to start. Because the message – loud and clear – starts in the street when you take in the home and the gorgeous, manicured gardens as you head for the front door. The streets in this part of town are packed with new, quality homes that have transformed former paddocks into one of the nest residential addresses in the twin towns. And here we are talking about one of the blue ribbon addresses in the neighbourhood and as you step through the front door you know why. First up is an open family room and at this end of the home the master bedroom suite has been established as far away from the minor bedrooms and main living space as possible. Such a good idea. It comes complete with the de rigueur ensuite with a walk-through robe, his and hers vanity, shower and separate toilet. However, the piece de resistance is coming. You keep going into the home and suddenly it seems as if a whole new world has opened right in front of your eyes. Massive is an understatement when it comes to the open plan heart of the home. It all happens right here; galley style kitchen with storage above and below, quality appliances (that would cover gas hot plates, electric oven, range hood and dishwasher), pantry and breakfast bar. Overlooking an ocean of space which incorporates living and tiled meals area. A large family dining table currently dominates that zone, there is room for more than just your standard lounge suite; is the perfect place for that jumbo at screen TV and would be an unparalleled entertainment area all year round. The raked ceiling and soft, neutral palette combine to create an even greater sense of space. To the side of the kitchen is the laundry which has plenty of storage space and could also act as a linen press and ironing room. There is also an exit to the back path with a clothesline. Not unexpectedly it is just as good outside as it is in – there is an alfresco entertainment area under the cover of the main roof and the lawns and garden have been beautifully laid out and lovingly maintained. Other ticks are scored for the double garage with roller door to the rear, interior entry and a large colorbond shed. On a sprawling 906 square metre block take your time checking out the established vegetable patches (the valuable rainwater tanks) and picture your furriest friend checking out his or her new domain. The solar-heated pool area is a genuine little oasis that has plenty of room to create a summer setting with the outdoor furniture of your choice and already has an outdoor shower with everything surrounded by secure fencing. You can look as hard as you want, you can look into every nook and cranny, but in the end you will only wanting to be looking at the contract of o er. Then you will have plenty of time to explore the rest. Elders Residential has this property for sale at $549,000 and it is open for inspection tomorrow at 11.15–11.45am.
